Hi all,
I don't visit the forum that often, and rarely post, but after reading some threads they all have a similar trend.
Some people like 2.0, some people don't, that's understandable. But, not many people are giving FFG much in way of constructive ideas to help the release.
The big area is the upgrade kits.
Now on a whole I can see how it's hard to please everyone, but the kits go along way to try and do that.
Many people, however, need more of a certain ship, but can't justify the cost of a second kit, and the suggestion is 3rd party purchase from people not wanting that ship.
FFG do not make money from 3rd party sales and it can be guaranteed popular ships will be both expensive and rare.
This idea has already been mentioned but I can't remember the thread where it was posted, you know who you are and it's a great and simple idea.
Blister packs of single ship types.
The pack can contain a card base, pilot cards, and upgrade cards. And that's all it needs.
Problem solved, you want more X-wings just buy as many blisters as you need.
I'd put a $5 cost to it, regardless of ship type or size. Stats should not effect cost all, don't go the games workshop route!
3rd market sales are still there, just now a little controlled.
As a bonus each pack could have a rare pilot card or upgrade card not available anywhere else. Adding to the CCG side of things. Or possibly the same card stats but different art.
Now you don't need to buy loads of upgrade kits and have lots of stuff you don't use or need.
I've also seen mention new damage cards only come with the starter set. Not many vet's like the idea of buying a new starter set just for the damage cards.
Answer, sell the damage cards on there own in a blister pack. Just like you can buy extra dice in a blister pack. If your damage cards happen to get "damaged" it's then easy to pick up a fresh set at little cost.
I'm sure new plastic range rulers will get made, along with new coloured bases of the new medium size.
In all, almost everything in X wing could be made available in blister packs to help vet's upgrade to the new 2.0.
Just a side note, I may keep playing 1.0 anyway, but if the above happens, I could just buy what I need to field a single build. Who knows.
So, let's see if there are any other ideas to help 2.0 launch. This is not about rules, just how to make the change easier and smoother.
Lets get constructive people.
