I think you’re overestimating the added costs and complexity while underestimating the reductions available when you take the single conversion kit and reduce its weight and volume by two thirds. But we’re really entering the realms of pointless speculation now.

Anyways as you see that thread had 3 whole pages. So next page we will stop posting, until something like this comes up again.
Edited by MarinealverOver from the Armada fora, does this mean we have to keep bumping this thread too?

What for?
And why do you not count „hey don‘t worry, you can proxy and we‘ll all trade anyway“?
Of course it hurts a lot of people, myself included. But no circlejerk will change that. Pointing out how to solve it however will.

Because feelings, once acknowledged and validated, can be processed and moved past. When they are instead challenged and belittled, then people become defensive and retaliatory and the community starts to fracture and the forums become very hostile, which no one wants. A little bit of "Yeah, I feel your pain, it's going to be expensive to upgrade" starts to heal the rifts in the community and just makes the forums a nicer place for everyone.
I am not yet convinced that trading will be a viable solution. The demand for some kits will be high, while supply will be very low. And for some kits the demand will be next to zero and the supply will be huge. I imagine it will be nearly impossible to find someone willing to trade a Decimator for a Defender, for example, or a Ghost for an X Wing. And the price of kits on the secondary market is yet to be established so it's hard for people to look at that as an option when they don't know how much it will cost them. At this stage in proceedings there's very little we can do but hurry up and wait.
If they at least made some mention of what will come in the Epic kits (more generic dials? Please!) or this 'alternate conversion path' that they're mysteriously unable to talk about, that might go a way to soothing some ruffled feathers.

Fair enough. From what I‘ve seen in the last week, there is a disagreement on just how much validation is necessary. The acceptance turns into frustration when those feelings are not processed and not moved past.
So from my point of view the belittling and challenge started after validation did not work. It was - and still is - frustrating that the valid explanations are waved away because feelings. A little bit of „Yeah I see your point, but it sucks that I have to scrape together what is a lot of money to me to keep playing this new version of the game“ would also have helped.
But then there‘s no discussion.

That's very true

#SWM20 when?
11 hours ago, Chucknuckle said:Each pack could have been priced at say, $20, and then as a player I could have bought one large+med pack, one upgrade pack, and two small base packs. Sure, it still comes out at $80 (better than $100 but still not great) but now I've paid for content I want and will use, and haven't purchased lots of duplicates I won't use. This would have cost them next to nothing in terms of R&D or shipping, and while it would have increased shelf space it's only a temporary problem since the transition period will have a boom when 2.0 hits the street but will quickly die off. Sure, they would have had to ship 3x as many units, but each unit would have been proportionately smaller and lighter, and they would have had to design three boxes instead of one, but I imagine the designs could have been recycled and that all things considered, the cost of designing the box was probably not a high percentage of the overall development costs.
How many Howlrunner baseplates, Sunny Bounder baseplates and or Lt Blont baseplates do you really need? By increasing the number of ships in a pack they reduce the redundant uniques. Making the pack smaller "vertically" doesnt work.
Making it smaller "horizontally", by giving away individual stacks for one ship, almost works- there's packaging and cardboard layout issues. And you know what? Once someone you know has an extra kit, they can split it horizontally themselves, giving or selling you the ships you need more of.

As I mentioned before, there was a lot of that, and 5 or 6 people refused to acknowledge it and just keep harping on the subject and exaggerating the cost, IN EVERY SINGLE THREAD, plus making multiple new threads just to do nothing but complain some more.

I don’t know... It IS in the past, but if I let it die will I become who I was meant to be?
Apparently, posting in the wrong forum is a somewhat common occurrence.
Also, we can make the assumption that Armada players are better at joking around and the Legion players are more helpful, based on a very limited sample size.

So, we're making this thread as big as the Gunboat one right?

It's the natural order of things...
People start out starry eyed and hopeful, looking to help everyone celebrate their wonderful hobby
Then as people start to grow dissatisfied, their sarcastic abilities increase; memes flourish
When dissatisfaction grows stronger, the salt washes away the jokes, only bitterness remains...
