Not saying they purposely made them bad, but there isn’t much value for FFG if these more obscure ships become the “face” of the competitive game, so I don’t feel like they would make them a priority for fun, strong, or interesting abilities above the OT staples.
Quadjumper is not missing much, to make it really good. And it is a movie ship (having only a few seconds less cinema screen time than the B-wings).
Misthunter was a fun concept with 4Lom and Zuckuss fitting together, and synergising with each other. And on that chassis absolutely not OP. Then came the meta, put Zuckuss (crew) on ships (dial creep) where he developed into a problem. Nerf hammer to follow, weakening so much that its not worth in fun games either.
While I am so far very sceptical towards 2.0 (monetary, app-dependancy, FFG's track record with points pricing, power creep and dial(!) creep), that would be something that could be solved elegantly with the fluid point system and the app. G1A with Zuckuss and 4Lom (crew-pilot or pilot-crew) could be competitively priced, to make it good, but not that good that it pushes out the more known stuff. We'll see how that develops.
While I am not a fan of the Punisher's looks, that ship really deserve some love from FFG.
I am crossing fingers for the Arc170, Hwks and the G1A.
And Kihraxzes and Scyks.

My true hope is that FFG gets to use some of the canon options that fighters have been lacking - even as options, bombs for strikers, missiles for Silencer, etc. I also would like Poe’s ability to be reminiscent of his flying over Tokodana, destroy a ship in your bullseye arc, spend a charge to attack again.
Not a particular ship per se, but one thing I'd really like to see more of in 2.0 is more Sunny Bounders!!!!
Specifically, I'd like to see all the cheap and/or old (in-universe old, so like Y-wings & Z-95s) Scum chassis get one or two low-cost, low-initiative unique pilots with weak, non-synergistic pilot abilities. It would be amazing to have a number of weird list filler options, not to mention the possibility of seeing a motley swarm of six or seven ships from four different chassis, each bringing a random unique ability to the board. That would be some tasty tasty scum flavor right there.
How is this even a question? The good old T-65!

While I'm naturally interested in seeing what they've done with my beloved Defenders and Gunboats, the number one ship I want to see is the E-Wing. I loved it in the EU, and really hope they've done it justice.
I'm excited for Y-Wings. My favorite, Rebel starfighter. I'm interested to see how the YT-2400 flies as well, and hopefully Dash will still be fun.
Anything SCUM will be fun!

There are a lot if ships I want to see on the table. It will be really fun for a good while.
One ship that I've really been wondering about is the Scyk. Thought I would be the only one, but am not. It's supposes to be a very cheap interceptor. Will it have a better dial? Will it have linked actions? Will it be the same, but super cheap? Will it have a Light or Heavy ...what was the word...CONFIGURATION! It could be a pretty cool ship with a redraft.

I'm mostly excited about the ships we've actually seen the most about so far. X-Wings, TIE Fighters, TIE Advanced, Firespray, Fang, Y-wing.
Outside of those, very interested to see what's been done with the YT-2400 and with S&V Y-Wings in particular.

I'm hesitantly hopeful about Interceptors getting a new lease on life. It's probably the thing that will make or break 2.0 for me, it absolutely has to maintain the playability of a ship like the interceptor or it's just not enough an improvement over 1.0
also really hoping for a less clumsy iteration of the TIE Defender this time
