I initially had this thought when I saw the Galactic Empire conversion kit comes with a medium base and was wondering what might be considered a medium size ship in either the conversion kit itself or just from the faction as a whole. With 2 being in the kit, and knowing that the Lambda is a large base from the preview, does that mean the decimator or punisher will be medium based? Since there are 3 sets of conversions for alphas and bombers, those are probably off the list of possibilities. Maybe defenders are getting bumped up a size? They're significantly smaller than the other ships we suspect will be medium; the scurg, k-wing, kimo and probably reaper, maybe the silencer. What's the speculation and have they released any more information on how base sizes will affect what the ships are capable of?

Its been confirmed in a few places that the Punisher, for the time being, will be the only Medium-base Imperial ship.

Edit: And the TIE Reaper; I was just thinking of the conversion kits.

I felt like I was forgetting something. I was just thinking of the conversion kit.

Presumably they will follow the same rules as small ships for barrel rolling? I'm also hoping that we see more size specific upgrades, or maybe medium ships have the ability to equip both small/large only upgrades.

They’ve been said to use large-base rules for barrel rolling, but I forget which video or stream it was in. Likewise I remember seeing an upgrade that said Small & Medium only, so it seems like there could be overlap in some places.

Also ion is now 1 for small, 2 for medium, 3 for large.

They use the large base BR rules.

I wouldn't expect there to be anything that assumes they're ewither large or small base, they are one of three base sizes in 2.0, I would expect them to be referred to on the sae level as small and large, as their own base size with their own restrictions and availability.
