Jun Sato bomber list (Y-wings)

By sasska, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi guys!

I want to learn and play Sato, but i don't know how to do it. I made that list but I don't know whether this list will be able earn me some wins or not. I really want that Sato+Salvation combo work.

I'm thinking of somehow putting in Toryn and an ECM on the flagship would be cool, but i dont know how to do it. I include the Pelta because it is the cheapest carrier and can push 4 squads. So I would really appreciate some thoughts on this whole thing.

I think boosted comms will be a better choice for the pelta, as you don't want it to close to the fight. Fleet ambush is very risky, and your fighters would benefit from fighter ambush for racking up points, or contested outpost as you can manuveor your opponent into a more advantageous position. If you drop 1 x wing you can fit bomber command centre on the gr 75 which is crucial for this kinda build, and it gives you 5 pts to play around with upgrades like turbolasers and such. If you really want the extra points you could drop the hwks for Jan ors, and that will give you enough for either toryn farr or ecm. Hope this helps :)

Thanks man! I think you really got the point. I include this many X-wings because I really fear admiral Sloane. But you are right, that BCC is essential. Now I have 7 pts, which I will invest into a Toryn/ECM. Swapped slaved turrets on Salvation for one more point. Not sure what to out tere though. DTT and QBT comes into my mind... Here is the revised list:

I'm kinda thinking another commander would be better over Sato. Those blacks on salvation will be devastating, but that's about it. Your pelta and AF2 still won't be that scary. I think you would be better off with someone like Dodonna or Garm even.

Yeah, I agree, as currently constructed another commander would be better.

I think Sato is generally better with less than max squadrons. You want the 32 points you are paying to help out your ships.

If you do want to go that way, I would consider changing the Assault Frigate for an MC75 Armored. You can still take flight controllers if you want, but honestly you probably want to take ordnance experts to leverage his ability. Pick a black crit you like to pair with ordnance experts (or a blue crit and put caitken/shollan). Then you can use the MC75 as your carrier. Put expanded hanger bays on it if you want.

Wide Area barrage as your black crit helps you nuke enemy squadrons and more quickly win the squad game but goes better with the ordnance MC75 with more black dice.

This is way more points than the AF, but leverages Sato's ability more. You could drop the Pelta for another GR75 with expanded hanger bays and bright hope, that should make up for the points difference.

For squads, I think X wings are decent with Sato. I would really try to fit Tycho in, his ability really matches so well with Sato.

Thank you guys! I'll try all three commanders and then select the best one. Actually I've never flew Garm, but I usually like to play less mainstream things so I'll give him a try.

As for dropping the Pelta and the Assault Frigate for an MC75, it seems intresting. And yes Tycho is awesome with him, I've already tried him.
