Lets completely ignore the difference in values in these games, cause I'm sure each unit in these games is equal to a one on one bases with an x-wing unit. its definitely not like for each one unit x-wing fields these other games usually field 10-30 so would need to expand your calculations to consider this. even more so is to be so disingenuous to compare upgrading one faction from each game to upgrading all x-wing factions at once as equivalent.

This is the thing, other games just aren't this expensive. I upgraded all my SAGA factions for $55. All my BMG factions for nothing. 40k factions are $50 a pop regardless of collection size. Any number of WHFB factions of any size can be converted to KoW for a single $40 purchase.

I don't care, to be honest. I'm going to upgrade, and I'm going to do it for as cheap as possible. I'll have my own solutions that won't work for everyone. What I'm sick and tired of is the sanctimonious white-knighting on behalf of FFG. The cost of conversion is high. Prohibitively high for some, and for most still a significant investment. Everyone that's acting like it's no big deal is displaying a serious disconnect with reality.

the upgrades for those games does that include materials or are you just buying a book?

in these you are getting roughly

140 pilot cards

70 card board bases

170 upgrade cards

4 plastic bases

thats maybe 17 cents per piece in the box

factor in manufactoring, packaging, shipping and other expenses I really think ffg's profit margin on this is not gonna be very big. I could be wrong, but would want more proof ffg chose this price to gouge us

Usually a book, sometimes two, usually hardcover, hundreds of pages, blah blah blah. Typical wargame production values.

Why do you think FFG chose the "the rules come on cards, but you need multiple copies of them for reasons" system? Because it drives sales.

Because they favor having players lists fully represented by cards on a table insted of it written as a list.

I have played against people proxing their lists and I kind of hate the experience.

Well, I am looking forward to meeting new peeps attracted by the revamp of a game based on a very popular franchise

unless they're bad people, always possible :(

Yeah, we might get some of those armada players. (I kid. XD)

Printed/Digital lists >>>>>> cards on the table.

I was back into WartyK, leaving this behind, before this update.

The idea that upgrading my armies to 8th was cheap is pure bulldoodoo. They got me for the basic game, about 140 bucks I imagine, as it is the "most efficient" way to get the rules, including a ton of cool figures, that yes, are unused. Then the rushjob army books to be able to play, followed by individual codexes, each around 30bucks. I have a mix of different armies, with most of my collection eldar though, as I enjoy the modelling and painting aspect. I paid up for the Craftworld book to discover that my Autarch would only be fieldable with my weapon configs (magnetised) if I ponied up for the Rushjob book too. Any attempt to claim that the 40k update is "cheap" in comparison is risible.

With this, almost all my ships are covered and are WAY COOLER, I also get all the dials updated! Pony up boys, bite the bullet, and stop Beaching!

Won’t 1 core + 1 CK provide at least 3 sets of xwing cardboard? Maybe 4?

Three strictly due to the maneuver dial but you could technically fudge more I guess at least as far as pilot chits.

Really admire to TS collection, starting to play this game and had determination to be collector too especially for this EW 2.0, cheers ?
