I missed all the coverage. Can't wait to see this.

I tuned out after the steam had like 3 consecutive Low/Fenn bs games, did not expect the Bots!
Simeon's run in the top cut was absolutely incredible. The lad flew the list so well that everyone should watch the streams, just to see his decision-making in action. Much love to the entire cut, double love to the European teams, and all the love in the world to Sim and Rasta.
Interesting. International people there, known US names as well there.
Top 8:
3 US players, 2 bringing EXACTLY the crap all the US pods are whining about. Nathan bringing Corran, ofc, but even he has Lowrisk and BS Fenn.
UK and NL list well known strong Empire meta lists.
Then came brobots, totally not meta

Wonderful flying on Simeon's part, totally unexpected finish!

Don't forget our favorite B/SF Specialist Bob

Congrats to all the finalists, but man is it cool to see this list take the whole thing! I've loved flying a similar list I'd come up with on my own years ago, but never played enough to be nearly this good with it.

The coolness of Bob on a top table was unfortunately offset by his partner Nym.
Three B/SFs or GTFO, noob.

Triple B/SFs cost like 3 monies though.
While i lve to see Brobots take it i would have liked to have at least 1 imperial win at a worldchampionchip in v1.
Congrats to all the players.

You mean besides the first one?

I always thought that was won by Rebels... but if i am wrong then really happy i am
Edited by Reaver027Pretty sure it was Imps first, then Rebels x3, then Scum x3? How many Worlds have there been? Lol.

Correct, I felt the imperial player did great by the way, those brobots were flown masterfully, but he for sure had the dice to back it up
I was told months ago there would be no international presence at worlds, how did the European Meta happen??
Seems that Ryan who was in the top 8, not Paul Kohl. The match between Simeon and Ryan, may have been the best.
Nevermind
Edited by IncardSo cool Brobots won the final 1.0 WC. These two list also happen to be two of my most played tournament (old Soontir Palpmobile that was)
Congrats and nice they take another Title to our Scum Europe after Nand Torfs.
And good to see that the meta is more diverse than it got credited before this. Will be fun last months in 1.0 it seems!
And again yay Brobots, really happy about this!

Well there were many finals with imp participation, but even the two years i remember when they were favorized (Whisper Miniswarm and Palpmobile) they got either slapped in the face by the Heaverman or a surprise list came out of nowhere to steal it from them.
But hey, serves the imp bootlickers well that they only won the first worlds that did not really count *wink*

Eh, I wouldn't say the meta is diverse from brobots winning. I think that's more a case of someone being really, really practiced with a list. And a little bit of luck.
The top 8 was still almost entirely the two dominant rebel lists, and a breakdown of entries probably looks exactly like what everyone expected. And then spoiled by the blast from the past.

.... but it will cost $300 to convert all of three!

I was not following X-Wing meta much since my last regional, but even back than, with the rise of Ghost/Fenn there was talk about control bots doing rather well in this meta. And I brought myself to that regional Palp Aces. Went with Ryad over Quickdraw. Was maybe my mistake, still imp aces won the whole thing and I got my templates as well. I just was more comfortable with Ryad over QD based on practise hours. My dials certainly are not turning white
Either way, control bots striving in the Euro meta was known even back than and they did placed in some bigger euro tournaments before, so not a total surprise either ... at least if you paid attention to the international meta. Ghost/Fenn variants certainly were the list to beat, but a lot people switched over here to lists which stand a chance to beat them and deal with the rest of the meta as well.

Well it was 3 Mirandas in Top 8. I don’t count Nathan’s Corran Horn, since he is clearly not the meta right now.
Two of these Rebel lists were flown by Paul Heaver and Jeff Berling too. Those two could possibly pilot anything to a top 8.
it’s still rebel dominated of course, but just not as bad as i would have thought.
Do we have all 16 of the top-cut lists somewhere? I'm interested in seeing exactly what people brought.

Good luck trying to find them. I've searched high and low. It might take each person to volunteer their own squad list. This names list might help.
