I am happy for both camps of X-Wing Miniatures players. This thread welcomes members of both.

Everything is great for all of us. Let me say that again: everything is great for all of us.

2.0 looks like a fantastic solution for many problems competitive players complained about. The new tokens and cards look soooo fantastic. And it does look like K-2SO will live in 2.0 only, so that is a bit sad for me. But this game will continue to attract new players and give old players new challenges and thrills.

1.0 is still the fun game it was a few weeks ago. And now 1.0 people can begin saving for retirement again. We can get the kids braces. We can take our wives out to dinner again. We can buy a new car. And we can still show off our collection, we can play HotAC forever, and we can enjoy all the scenarios we have yet to try that came with 1.0.

All fans of this game should really enjoy this development. If you don't, take a closer look inward.

An olive branch offered to rabid wolverines lol Good thread though GKC may it be heard brother.

As excited as I am for 2.0, I'm also excited that I still have 1.0! It's not a perfect game, but it's good enough and will be different enough to still be fun in its own way!

Now this is a thread I can get into, thanks.

It's been a few days now and it's really eerie to me to see the animosity being thrown around, kinda like the SW community after the '97 special editions, or the Prequels, or the new trilogy (weird, right?). A big bit of cognitive dissonance I see here is from folks that don't consider those of us that started out when the game was new though. We have had a long time to acquire too many extra ships/fleets when there were just a few options. Pepperidge Farm remembers the days of only a couple of waves to choose from.... mmmmmmmm, Spammy. :D

I'm happy and excited that they fixed a bunch of stuff that needed it, it's has been a long time coming. Since I haven't played in OP events for a while it hasn't really affected me that much, although I might again once we see the new rule book. Personally, I have made 146 ships for The Clone Wars and the Rise of the Empire era without FFG's assistance and I will keep making more. A few hours with my computer and printer guy isn't a loss for me to upgrade my 1.0 stuff to 2.0 once I get the new Core. That's just me though, you gotta do you.

I guess I just wish everyone has fun playing with their Star Wars stuff what ever way they like without all the hostility directed towards others opinions. Is this just the way we are now??? I hope not.

Clear skies, J

I never stopped.

How do you think I could get her to ignore "Mistakes Were Made"?

Yup.

It’s easier for our “mistakes” to be overlooked when other good things are happening.

I also sold it to her as family time, because I got my dad into it. And he’s going 2.0 with me.

This may be the biggest reason I don't go 2.0. My brother hasn't even invested in all the 1.0 materials. He's not interested in buying boxes of make-up cardboard when he doesn't even have all the ships.

Hit some people up already calculating what they don’t need out of conversions. There is a thread where people are discussing what they don’t need an intend to trade/sell. You might find your brother some good deals if he only needs some stuff.

Completely understand your situation there. If the folks you play with aren’t changing over, the incentive to change is gone.

We both like tournaments as well as just time over at one of our homes, so it’s a logical next step. I’m hoping once 2.0 streamlines and fixes epic I can get him to fly those massive ships he’s bought but never used because he “needed” Palp (or other standard goodies).

Or maybe that’s the reason I keep my 1.0 cards around, because epic isn’t given love (I know I know ffg promised but how long did it take from announcement to release of the Raider? :) )

A place of peace!

Let me tell you a brief, true, story. We had a great subcommunity in one game. That game updated at some cost. We couldn't all afford it. We waited. A bit. It was difficult. It really was a little bit.

Finally, a vast majority were updated. A few we all felt sorry for waited longer.

Some time passes.

A year later, everyone was updated. There was much virtual backclapping for those last across the line....

Another year later. Fuss? What fuss?

How much better this is now.

Yeah, it really is....

I can't believe we put up with that old one.

And yet. Still I find more to say about things in 2.0 that I'm not so keen on, than ALLLL those I think look great.

What do you think about...?

Looks great. Smiley face. Like.

What about...?

Well. Before we start....

Yeah, the reason not to 2.0, 2.0.

Epic is the One True Game for me. If it's not getting love, September means nothing.
