The last time I checked they weren't crystal, but I won't let that stop me trying to predict the future after 2nd edition lands. So here we go:

1. Most of the people complaining about the cost of the conversion kits and 2nd (me included ?) will buy into it.

2. Most of the people threatening to rage quit won't. They'll be posting on these forums in 6 months time saying that the game is wonderful and that the conversion costs were nothing.

3. 2nd will actually be a better game to play than 1st has become.

4. People are going to get rich on eBay splitting conversion kits up.

5. The E-Wing will still be a poor cousin to the TIE Defender.

6. The T-65 will be the greatest ship ever.

Any other predictions?

Here is one: The people that actually leave will be outnumbered by the people who left in the last 1,5 years because they got feed up with where the game was heading and come back now.

Another one:

People who got started in turret wing and never tried something else will have to relearn the game even more than the rest.

Also, renaissance of formation flying as a skill

#4 is very unlikely. With an MSRP of 50 dollars, there's a pretty low ceiling to how much the individual components will sell for.

Certain components will be lucrative (tie Fighters/Defenders/gunboats seem to be have the most vocal complaints.

Others not so much. Getting rich will definitely be a stretch. Breaking even is most likely since there are a lot of people with more money than sense. For proof please see the 2.0 X-wing expacs that are on ebay right now.
