Hey Hannibal, Have You Heard About This?

By JoeyBriefcase, in Star Wars: Destiny

Forum's kinda stale, I'm suprised no ones talked about the little spoilers that have trickled down the last couple weeks. Here they are as best as I can remember them.

Plo Koon

10 Health, Blue Hero 11/14

1 melee, 2 melee, 1 focus, 1 shield, 1 resource, blank

You have the abilities of each of your non-unique characters.

Cassian Andor

10 Health, Yellow Hero 11/14

1 range, 2 range, 1 discard, 1 discard, 1 resource, blank

After you resolve this die deal 1 indirect damage to an opponent and (/or?) discard the top card of the deck

I'm psyched that they're making solid 11/14s although Cassian seems pretty dang strong. Any thoughts, gang?

Yeah, it's pretty sad.

Plo's ability is interesting, but right now there's not that many interesting choices. Padawan and Jedi Mom are probably the main ones. Jedi Acolyte continues to be one of the worst characters in the game because of his cost, Plo might have saved them if they cost 8. Hopefully they release some more interesting options for him in this set. Though one question I've got - do Keywords count as abilities? Mainly wondering whether he can copy Guardian.

He would have been more interesting on the dark side, honestly. Hero non uniques tend to be pretty boring in comparison.

Cassian gets points for working well with Jyn both ways (He's actually 10/14). Unfortunately Jyn is still pretty terrible, but if she gets a 'remake' version retaining the same theme and clocking in at 16 points they could go together pretty well. And a new K2 that plays with Cassian (trigger off indirect damage?) would be really nice. On his own, he seems pretty solid, essentially a variation on 2p set Rey who's more focused.

Can you play a two cost upgrade on Plo for free if he teams with two Padawans? Can the ability stack?

Yes - Jeremy already sent someone an e-mail with this confirmed. Does stack. Makes him pretty darn crazy. Will see how it works when the new set comes out. Pretty exciting!

I was thinking clone troopers would work well with him too, but I'd love to know if keywords count as abilities.

Keywords count, but don't stack. Was in same e-mail. Sorry, I didn't copy/paste e-mail or would post the image here. Another post has all current relevant combos he can use. People are excited. :)

Plo Koon +2 Jedha Partisans is mill 4 with the first indirect damage, then?

Seems good, just have to figure out how to keep them alive

Thanks. It is pretty exciting for sure! Hoping for more creative non uniques in the coming set as well. Maybe the old captain phasma can make a come back. Would be neat to see an ability that counters damage, perhaps dealing one indirect when take damage or something.

Cassian is very interesting. Clearly a mill deck using indirect damage with Partisan and the range dice are fodder for mitigation. I am not sure it is good, but it is something.

It definitely will make all of us look at those non-unique characters a bit closer, that's for sure. :) I'm still amazed at how many different builds you can make that are viable. FFG definitely knows how to design games and their ability to incorporate licensed properties is just astounding. Hondo has been my favorite in terms of flavor though. Perfect design for that pirate. :) We'll see how this plays out. Hoping for some sweet play action though!
