Conversion kit, blister packs, both?

By OoALEJOoO, in X-Wing

I"m curious about how the conversion kits will turn out. Looks like FFG has only disclosed the quantity of ships, based on maneuver dials , that will be included on the conversion kits. No real info on pilots, upgrades, tokens, etc. My bet is that the conversion kit will include:

1) Only ship-specific tokens. Game tokens, such as focus, etc, will only be included in the core set. In short, you do need to buy a core set.

2) Some pilots. Perhaps all the pilots that will be included in 2.0 wave 1 but for sure not all the pilots that will come with the individual 2.0 blister of each ship. If you want all/some content you would have to buy a blister.

3) Some upgrades. Same as above, you would probably still need to buy the 2.0 blisters to expand content.

I hear a lot of people are saying you just buy 1 or 2 conversion kits for each faction and that's it. It might not be the case. If you want to keep yourself current to the latest, you would probably have to buy more 2.0 blisters just for the cards (or perhaps the updated ship, even if you already have 1000). In short, there might very well be a "buying everything all over again"?

I'm casting no judgement. I just want to understand how this will work out.

They specifically said all piltos and upgrades from the blisters will be included in the conversion kits. If you buy the conversion kits you don't have to buy any of the wave 1 blisters unless you want the models.

Future waves might have new pilots or upgrades, but htere will be a way to get the cards without buying the full blisters with models.

I have a bad feeling about this....

I imagine they won't be creating individual "conversion kits" for each upcoming 2e wave ship that contains the cards without the ship. They have already stated that this model is impractical, which is why we are getting the large conversion kits.

My feeling is that they are stating this to get people at ease, then might later just mention that it is impractical. At that point the only way to get the new stuff is to buy the whole blister, ship and all. The only negative thing I can't wrap my head around is the new blisters being 33% more expensive ($20 instead of $15).

I highly doubt that they are lying when they say there will be a path. I imagine it wold be one pack for the whole wave.

They said the conversion kits will include roughly 100 pilots and about 170 upgrades. We also know that the kits will include all the cards from the wave one blisters. So based on the X-Wing blister we can expect about 2 generic and 4 unique pilots per ship.

They also said that for future waves there will be a way to bypass the blisters for re-released ships.

Gonna vary depending on the ship probably. IIRC we know 4 ywing uniques. Horton and Dutch are returning, norra is in the ywing, and I believe there’s one more
