I used to play X-wing all the time, burned myself out after about a year of 2/3 tournaments a month and weekly casual play(the power creep got to me too). Now I play Armada a lot, love the game and our forums are mostly bitter right now(myself included), so I thought I'd drop by, say hi, and see how you guys are feeling about this strangely star wars less star wars day on the FFG forums. How are your guys feelings on 2.0?

I've actually thought the game has needed a 2.0 for a long time. the cost to upgrade seems a bit steep(i fielded almost exclusively imperial but I had some scum and rebels just for collecting/recruiting/cards like ya do), with the core set and the upgrade kit thats what, 90 ish and then whatever they release the FO set for(guessing 40) so 130ish +tax -mini market/thewarstore.

I am glad they're doing the new edition, even if I'm pissy about the weird buildup to the hyperspace report.

I actually haven't played X-Wing in like 14 months. I really enjoyed my local scene and the game in general but like...had real life junk and this game takes a long time to play and I was starting to burn out a smidge.

Heard about 2.0 and after reading the details came sprinting back. I'm a major game design enthusiast. Study it as a hobby. Everything FFG is doing here looks right to me. I'm excited. VERY excited. Can't wait to give them money.

Looking forward to 2.0. I wish the conversion packs were cheaper (as I often supply the game for multiple people on game nights so I actually do need multipleseventually). Then again I wish everything I spend money on was cheaper, so.... yeah.

It looks promising, and I’m glad they’re making a 2.0. I’m particularly excited about the game being easier on new people again. We jumped that shark as soon as the first couple “fixes” rolled out, and it’s been downhill since.

Reasonably excited. Looking forward to learning more about it.

If you just picked up some other faction ships for the upgrade cards, FFG has said that for 2.0 they are going to ensure people don’t have to do that anymore, so just the imperial conversion kit should be adequate for your needs.

I thought I would find a picture to say I'm excited so I googled 'excited star wars' with safe search off. Don't do that.

I’m so excited about 2.0 that I had an x wing dream.

At first I was really excited, then reality set in, now I am unsure.

It looks really awesome, but it may just not be for me.

It's funny, I'm not HUGE Battletech fan (only played some late nineties casual tabletop and some of the later Mechwarriors) and I've played a couple missions of this new one and enjoyed it, but I CANNOT pull myself away from Into The Breach.

I really want to put more time into Battletech though, the campaign is intriguing. I am a Battletech novice though, so I'm having a hard time understanding with bars mean what (heat, armor, etc) and how initiative works but I've no doubt if I can pull myself away from ItB for a bit, BT will sink in. Gorgeous game, nice terrain

...also, very excited for 2.0, I kinda' wish there were some little free samples (like a ship or two's worth of cards) coming out on FREE RPG Day to demo it a bit, but oh well. Mainly right now though, I'm just excited for the next time I get to play 1.0.
Sucked into a work camping trip this weekend, D&D next sunday... I don't get to fly nearly as much as I'd like.
