X-Wing One and the Future of 1.0

By Jadotch, in X-Wing

FFG is no longer supporting X-Wing 1.0, it does not mean the game is dead.

I am considering launching community mod website for X-Wing 1.0 for those that want to keep going with it. (registered at www.xwingone.com ). This does not mean I am going forward with it, it just means I am thinking about it if there is enough of a call. I could not resist registering the name though, too good to pass up.

How would you like to see 1.0 continued from a community standpoint?

Obviously will be "downgraded" pilot cards to fit in the 1.0 set with new models.

Refined rules?

Custom expansions?

I see this as an opportunity for a more democratized 1.0 experience with out "it has to be official" mindset.

A group consensus of retro-verted 2.0 releases with 1.0 would be a priority for me.

Posted elsewhere, my possibilities for coping with 2.0 are:

1. Init 1-6 = PS 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9.

2. Divide 2e point costs by 2.

3. Allow both dials to be used. I can have 2 "fancy A-Wings" and 6 "well, these have seen some wear-and-tear" ones.

4. Take the ace abilities on new pilots and make a Strange Eon card.

5. Use the app to build my lists but then use my old dials anyways.

And, homebrew ideas are now probably a great idea.

Edit: I do like the double entrendre of www.xwingONE.com and www.xwinGONE.com

Maybe the fancy dial as an "upgrade" card costing points?

Once I get my head wrapped around everything I want to release a "Blue" errata version of updated paper card sleeves you can print and cut out to "update" the cards. So you have something physical. Something that would only cover the bottom half. (Just a printable PDF)

Once it needs updated again, a "Red" version, green, gold etc ... etc ...

That way you easily know what version of the card sleeve errata you are running just by the boarder. No need for an App during game play.
