2.0 T-65 vs. 2.0 T-70

By Force Majeure, in X-Wing

How do you think these two ships will stack up against each other in 2.0?

The new 65s have Tallon Rolls, Barrel Rolls and Boost available to them now. Stats: 3/2/4/2 vs the 1.0 T-70 stats: 3/2/3/3

Will opening/closing S-foils be different for the T-70?

There HAS to be some game mechanic not yet introduced to distinguish the 70, like doing your choice of K turn/T-Roll on turns or banks. And it would have to be costed accordingly, which now with the new App can be adjusted if they get it wrong the first time out.

Luke and Poe are VERY similar in ability with the new force mechanic.

I would also assume that the T70 will get updated to have it's own servo motors, and would also get flappy wing model. What it's servo motor ability does is unknown... can't even guess.

They don't necessarily have to be super different. They could be similar ships filling similar roles for different factions.

I'm just imagining super xwings, which are also super expensive to match their extended capabilities

So 1 more Hull/shield, some sloops, maybe the servo focus --> red boost is native...

The Tech slot could still exist too

Yeah, given them being in different factions now you can't fly them in the same squad anyway.

I agree on the cost.

6 to 10 more points for added hull or shield is in line with 1.0 pricing, but FFG has said that each faction will have it's own " personality identity" so-to-speak, so it makes me wonder if that translates to similar looking ships with mostly similar dials or if there will be something that will make them more distinct from one another besides a tech slot. Maybe that will be enough of a distinguishing feature in 2.0.

We know nothing baout what the T70 will look like in 2.0. They could do more to differentiate it if they want. And who knows if poe's ability will stay the same.

Big thing is tech slot giving the T-70 access to better upgrades. There's also the Black One title upgrade. I think it's going to take quite some time to really shake out the difference between factions. Crew, astromechs, upgrades, pilots, ect all will take a few waves to catch up on content and distinction.

don't assume the tech slot returns. I would be Poe would get built in black one abilities

I think they will keep something on both Resistance and FO to help distinguish more of a difference between them and the older factions.

I know I am hoping Poe’s ability shows off his skill as in The Force Awakens.

3 charges, when you defeat an enemy ship in your bullseye arc you can spend a charge to attack another enemy in range.

What if it doesn't have a servo motor, it just has the boost and linked focus/boost natively. Have cake and eat too seems like a logical upgrade after 30 years

Well in the stream they mentioned that Resistance ships would likely be super aces stuff with normal lists running 2 to 3 ships whereas in the same games it looks like it won't be uncommon for Rebel lists to run 3 or 4 ships, possibly five.

I'm imagining +1 Agi when S-foils are closed.

Or gets TLJ pilot ability - When you reveal and perform a successful Talon Roll, you may immediately perform a second Talon Roll without taking additional stress on the second move.

Or maybe he gets to talk smack to add stress to an enemy ship?

Introduced in 5 ABY, not as much development as you thought.

I'm putting my money on 3/2/4/3 with a boost rather than barrel roll and some kind of linked action as well. Maybe a Focus-Boost.

I'm putting my bets on a new model with moving wings. :D

Tech to give it SLAM?

The design space is open and although I am not as interested in the Resistance stuff (Don't need it to keep OT ships on the board) the flavor of the faction might still suck me in. Who knows what cool new stuff they may get.

At this point, for all we know the HWK-290 has a 4 die primary.

T70 get's Poe's "SLAM" ability :P
Foils Closed: If you revealed a 1speed maneuver, you may instead perform a white Stop and skip your action step. If you do, after activation phase is over, perform two 3 speed Forward maneuvers, then receive a stress token" - In addition, roll 1 fewer attack die when performing a primary attack.
Foils Open:
Gain Focus > red Barrelroll action combo

Honestly, I would prefer it get a great, thematic dial than a super powerful primary.

I could see it getting a free boost action with the wings close IF they decide to go with flappy winged T-70. If they keep tech slots a thing, they might not change the T-70s much since they won't be flying next to T-65s anymore.

Me too, but it would be the ultimate trolling/mistake in an article to hint that it had a 4die primary.

"And in this update all ships were reviewed and adjusted. Most importantly the community favorite HWK-290. Receiving the largest offensive buff of any ship in 2.0 it has had it's attack value doubled! May the Empire fear the power you will unleash with it!"
