What do we know about Karak Azgaraz?

What do we know about that place?

jh

It is a dwarf hold.

That is all

Partly from the short section in the Rulebook, and partly from my own assumptions:

  • It is a fairly new Dwarf Hold in the Grey Mountains
  • It relies fairly heavily on trading due to it's close proximity to the Empire
  • It is not a rich hold due to the meager mineral deposits
  • It is mainly a military hold, intended to be used to fight Orcs; it is probably not very deep within the mountain, but is well defended against surface attack.
  • It does not have a great number (or any) of Longbeards
  • Established guilds may have less sway here; the rash nature of the Beardlings who would make such a place home would likely eschew certain tenets of the Engineer's Guild, so you may have more of an opportunity for new designs or weaponry to be made here.

So far as I understood it, they stole that from Warhammer Online (which I've not played) - so check out their website, I guess

I was curious as to how long this Dwarf hold has been around. When was it established? As far as the 3rd Ed. timeline I got the impression it was only a matter of a few years at the most. ???

I don't recall a Karak Azgaraz in WAR.
