What do you miss about 2E?

What do you guys miss about 2E?

I miss the sheer number of careers...

jh

I've never played it, but I have gone over the material. From what I can see between the two, the number of careers isn't a sticking point to me, but the advancement options are. 2E seemed to have much nicer advancement with minimal investment in game material, while the current edition really stops advancement at Rank 3.

Long-term consequences - seeing your character slowly become corrupt/drift into madness/get diseases etc... Everything in v3 is 'immediate'. The mechanics support a much 'cleaner' Warhammer World - and that makes me a sad bunny :(

I miss whining about what I miss about 1E.

I miss mutations, proper career advancement, career progression tracks (i.e. career exits defined), advanced spells, everything from Tome of Corruption and Skaven PC rules

What about critical hits that take a long time to heal, and indefinite-length insanities from being strained? My group picked up one or two of each in the introductory session.

I don't miss 2e.... I'm still playing it. :)

Yeah back in the day my main gripe was the lack of seriously freaky spell components. Nasty $#!t in there, for real (I'm looking at YOU Demonology spells).

Never played my 2nd edition stuff - but I love the campaign source books (Sigmar's Heirs etc) - so hoping to see similar with 3rd, especially for areas that 2nd never got to.

Good maps.

Some of the later publications of 2nd tried to address one of the issues I personally always had with Warhammer. Consistency. I really appreciated that.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the new game, but from what has been published so far, it seems it's going all down the drain again.

:(

I don't really miss anything, but if I were to mention something it would be that. î

I think supplements will bring a lot of things, but I would also like the taint of corruption to be both an internal and external threat to the PCs.
