What if the commentators were pulled from people who actually play Skirmish competitively? Then they won't be making some of the more obvious mistakes and can talk to the strategy more. Just a thought.

Totally. Any of us would be happy to sign some sort of agreement where we promise to represent FFG well, or something like that. Or they could even just continue with these commentators again next time, but invite a competitive Skirmish player join them as a guest host or at least as someone who chimes in with clarifications in situations like this.

Seriously, there are plenty of good players around at these events. Especially in the elimination rounds. If I had been eliminated and was approached to join as a commentator for some games, I'd jump at the opportunity!

During the down time between matches, the commentators should interview the winner of the previous match.

I only saw 2 matches of the top 16 (gonna watch all of them again this week). But in those 2 matches, I thought the broadcast crew did fine. It was clear they couldn't hear what was going on at the table, either. Next year, they should have a producer at the table with a private audio line to the commentators who actually say what's going on at the table and then let the commentators reiterate and expand to the audience.

Also, I recognize the commentators were focused more on selling the game for new players than experienced players like us. And that's fine. It would be cool if FFG would fly two of us to Minnesota and let us *sound immaculate* breaking down how each move changes the game state and potential options for a seperate stream. I guess for them to afford that, we'll have to buy ALL EXISTING STOCK of IA.

Hmmm. If only there were a pair of players with broadcast experience who are local to the area and focus on being accessible to new players while still being interesting to experienced players...

Well, they have to be employees of Asmodee. You can't even volunteer since they're not a non-profit. And forget it if you're not American. They can't hire "contractors" if they're not American. (insert sad-faced Canadian emoticon)

This might need some playtesting to make sure it is fair for the rest of us.

I petition to make that the card he designs for winning.
