Vassal is going to need a **** of an update...

I wonder if Muon's newer system of incorporating new packs can handle 2.0, or if a lot of the groundwork will have to be replaced. Either way, it's a monumental task that will hopefully be completed before season 7 of the Vassal League begins.

On the plus side, it will be possible to shortcut B-Roll Positions and automate funky bendy B-Rolls and T-Rolls. This new version of X-Wing seems better suited to VASSAL representation.

I might have to sign back up to his patreon thinger over the summer. Hopefully the work will be continued.

1st a builder, 2nd online play? Maybe Vassal just wont be needed... They have a game that can be as fun to play in RL than online and they know they have the player base for both (seeing how popular Vassal play is with 1.0). It would be kinda fool for them not to grab the easy $$ they can make by selling an online play app. They could make it so that players who buy the physical material automatically get the equivalent for the online app. Players could still be able to buy only the virtual version of their products at a reduced price.

As long as they dont go the MTG way... For those who dont know they created an online version of their game with no link to the RL one. If you want to play online you have to pay again for your cards and they cost as much as RL ones...

Also, what’s going to happen to Heroes of Arturi Cluster? At least Vassal has a team of people who have been actively working on it, and will likely continue to do so, but HotAC has been dormant for a year or two now. I worry that the creator still won’t be available to come back to HotAC and give it the love and attention it needs and with 2.0 coming out HotAC will fall by the wayside. ?

What needs to be done here?

From what I understand of the game(have to admit I have never played it) it has more in common with Imperial assault than standard X-wing. Would just using the new dials for the ships really break it?

Yeah.. the creator is actually making games that he will hopefully get paid for - a coopeative Terminator fame that is or just finished on Kickstarter
