Should FFG Provide a print and play service for existing fan base to convert their fleet or is the 50 dollar conversion charge reasonable?

OK, I guess I'll bite. Just for comedy value, if nothing else.
Why on earth would FFG make a $50 product for sale, and then immediately turn around and undercut their own market for that product by making a free DIY kit? That would have to be the most colossally stupid business decision ever made.
Also most people wouldn't won't to play against cheap and crappy made homebrew components.
A $50 upgrade kit to convert an entire faction's worth of ships brilliant. It's cheaper than buying individual card packs, covers a variety of options, leaves room to trade extras, and let's things be done in one fell swoop. Complaining about it is silly, as is expecting FFG to just hand over all the new stuff for free. They are a for-profit company, and they do need to pay their employees after all.
