I'm liking the new ion-him-off-the-board strategy for dealing with Lowhhrick.
The Imperials have a shot at finally winning Worlds!

"... again". They won the first.

There were like a dozen locals for that one, and nobody knew what they were doing.
That was a **** of an opening move. For both players.
Where is the official FFG stream? I can't find it anywhere

Thank you!
What is happening here!? Brobots and palp aces, Netherlands and UK?! This is interesting. No turrets, harpoons, etc...
One bomb though.
Go team brobots.
This makes me so happy to see no turrets, no sheathipedes, no harpoons, and no Miranda.

What year is it?
Edited by WAC47Such a stressful game
Brobots are champions, it's official!
*sigh* Maybe we can win in 2.0.
At least it wasn't a cancer rebel terrorist list.
Edited by HolySorcererWell, Brobots it is. Did not see this coming. Good playing all around though, it was a hard fought game.

Well of course, he has to able to call someone else’s cell phone at the final table. /s

Not exactly true. 2012 meta consisted of either Ion control Rebels or Tie swarm based on formation flying. X-wings and Vader has a precence but were considered tier 2. Only difference is no one really tried to intentionally block someone.
don’t cheapen or discount the first win just because it didn’t have multiple waves of ships.

How many people competed?

Doesn’t matter, it could have been only was 4 people, worlds has gotten bigger in attendance every single year. It’s ridiculous people would expect X-wing in 2012, as a very new game at the time, to look anything what we have now, in terms of availability, popularity, and communication.
Even more ridiculous to say it wasn’t a real worlds because it doesn’t meet the current standards(how could it?!)
Imps won a single worlds. Period.

Eh?
Wasnt it also the final of the biggest x-wing tournament ever held? This is hardly coming out of the blue to anyone who wasn't being blinkered by 'OP Rebels'.

You forget Sir, what happens outside the US is rarely considered when it comes to the meta.

Pretty sure that wasn’t the final since it was trip imps vs Rey/Low, this style of brobots were in the top 4 there. And there were a whopping 3 brobots lists in any cuts at 50+ person tournaments all this year, while rebels were nearly 60% of all cuts. So yeah, controlbots winning worlds is pretty wild compared to the past 5 months of X-Wing. Palp Aces being there isn’t nearly as crazy by comparison though.
Edited by mdl0114Congratz to Simeon for doing an awesome job flying the brobots and being well deserved world champion
