I started these when the rumor of 5 X-Wings with Saw’s Renegades. Was about to start weathering when I heard the big 2nd Edition announcement. Not sure what I’ll do now.....finish these and use with 2.0 or get six of the new X-Wings and start over.

Keep them, they're even better now that they're custom painted!
These are wonderful! Great job! How did you go about, with an airbrush or by hand? Have been painting Red Squadron myself, but had difficulties with the markings on the wings to get them in line with each other... And they look so slick now, why bother weathering..?

I wish I could claim doing them by airbrush or hand but I cheated and used some decals and touched up with a brush by hand.
I do like how they look now but was planning to apply some subtle weathering to match the movie models. I’ve been using Archive X paint which was matched to the Floquil paint used on the original models. Trying to reproduce that in 1/270 scale.

Well, no matter what you did, or how you did it, it's spot on!
Did you make the decals yourself?
Edited by Jaden CorrI have to agree. Unless you really want articulating S-foils keep these, they're works of art!

Thanks! I’ll play these until 2.0 gets released then I’ll try a new set and these will go to the 1.0 display shelf. I’d like to have those moving S-Foils on Red Squadron on the table. “Lock S-Foils in. Attack Position.”
@drail14me . Did you make the decals yourself or buy them from a third party? I'm really looking forward trying some of these myself, but haven't really got the skills to pull this of in something like Photoshop or anything.
@Jaden Corr I got the decals off eBay from Cosmos Models. He makes them in various scales and colors. I’ve used his stuff on several projects. Good stuff.
