I love this new idea of Version 2.0, simply because 1 conversion-kit is going to be enough for me. Seriously, the only thing I wont be able to fly is the Zed-swarm of 7 zeds... but who cares, I never did that anyway
. And to be honest I think a lot of casual players feel the same way. The people who go all-out crazy with rants on how many dollars they spent on 1.0, should have used their common sense, who needs 7 TIE Defenders or Millenium Falcons anyway?
It's funny: I've been a year in this game and have (wisely, if i may say so myself) 'mained' Scum all this time. And here I am, going to spend $50,- on an expansion that has more items than that I have ships... It leaves room for me to maybe buy some second-hand 1.0 ships from the players that sell some to afford their abundence of 'necessary' upgrades.
Besides, with regard to the discussion about the conversion-kits: in the history of X-wing, people have always called expansions 'worth your money' or 'not worth it...'. The Starviper Expansion was deemed 'worthy' just because of the 2 copies of Autothrusters. The A-wing Expansion was 'worthy' because of PTL... Both of these ships were not the best in their class or faction, and yet they were deemed good expanions. So these conversion-kits must be the best Product-for-Money in a very long time!
I have the solution: If you have too much 1.0 stuff and don't want to buy 2.0, just keep playing 1.0... It's that simple! You don't lashed by some FFG-cooperative for not buying into the game.
