What’s the storage situation going to look like for 2E?

Upgrade cards and Pilot cards the same size? Upgrades are faction specific? So, guessing one card binder per faction to hold Pilot and upgrade cards?

Guessing not much changes for ship storage?

Looks like upgrades now will be same size as the pilots with a huge upgrade simbol. Is kind of a waste if u ask me, 30% of the upgrade binder will be wasted now.

And upgrades are not faction specific.

I need to figure out how to store the new cards, my tackle box only has space for my pilot cards of that size.

I would have preferred the Mini-American style for upgrades. Easier to store and less table space at tournaments. However, maybe 2.0 will have less upgrades per ship.

The big change is now there are medium bases but those should go in where your large bases were but might rattle around a bit. Maneuver dials might be a bit bigger unless you're using the fancy heavy plastic covers already and will continue to do so.

But the models are going to be the same.

You'll need more standard card game sized storage for cards but those style sheets are easily found and regular nine pocket style go in the same kinds of binders that the 16 pockets pages for the upgrade cards go in.

You'll need to store all the 1.0 stuff you plan on keeping but won't be using if you won't be playing first edition all the time. If you'll be doing both you'll likely want to figure a way to integrate the new stuff into your storage.
