So weird.
But I WANT IT NOW.

You. are. not. paying. for. things. you. already. have.
Also for real the cost is significant and a major gripe for me. I don't want to buy a core set for a damage deck and other stuff... Geez.
And I have full 100pt sets of imperials, and extra rebel stuff, probably also 2 sets. I have to pay for 1 x 3 for Scum, FO and Resist? yikes man. That's easily 350$!
Not happy about that. Not including a core set that I DONT want. 390$?
400$ for a filthy casual to play Xwing 2.0??
I might just try and compile house rules for 1.0

Sorry mate, but if you are a “filthy casual” as you describe - why are you essentially committing to lists outside of what, say, one upgrade pack would get you?
Legit question - are people still just focused on current list archetypes because there’s no specific information?

Say I want to play a casual game with some mates with 4 xwings. NEed two packs for the bases right?
I have 5 interceptors. 5 bombers. 4 tue FO which need an emtirely separate pack.
Running four xwings vs a bunch of interceptors for fun sounds pretty casual to me no?
4 xwings is just a random fun list. It’s not an archetype nor a currently competitive list.

But why feel locked into 4 X wings? That’s the question I’m asking... Why a bunch of interceptors specifically? Why not mix them bags up?

Cuz I’m casual and I wanna play with the four xwings I have?
Would you be asking me this same question if I wanted to run 3 or 4 arquitens? For a fun list?
Like what??? Isn’t that the point of being casual?
Realize that 4 xwings is not effiecent max. 5 is the most you can fit. Same for 3-4 arquitens.
I’m confused. This seems exceptionally obvious and the definition of casual. I wanna play 5 ints cuz I feel like it? Why do you seem so against it?

Because to me - casual is.... “not caring?” Kinda like that...
I feel it less casual to have specific definitions or demands...
Casual - for me - would be running “what I’ve got on hand” and... if I don’t have it, I don’t run it.. that would extend to just owning a single useable ship from a collection, rather than all 4.
I mean, I only own 1 Arquitens. Do I wish I had more to run more? Sure. But generally not in casual games... I’ll ghriw together my one Arq with my one Raider and my one Glad... because casual.
If I’m brainstorming a multiple Arq list st, it’s probably not “casual” mind space.

We don't actually know that. Everything is re-balanced and re-priced. R2-D2 is 10 pts, now, with R5-D8 at 7. Lists are now aimed at a 200pt build target, but who knows what the ship costs are?
It's entirely possible there aren't "cheap generics" anymore - in the replay videos TC posted, the TIE Fighter swarm Alex brought all had Crackshot, meaning it sort of seems like the EPT-fielding veterans might be the cheapest thing going...or maybe not.
Thing is - we just don't know. And as another point, proton torpedoes are now a LOOOOOOT more powerful. Like, HLC-level good. So you're basically always going to want to bring them. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that, in 2nd edition, three X-Wings is as many as you can fit in a list given the standard-ish must-have upgrades for them.
To extend this metaphor - if they released armada 2.0 tomorrow and the conversion kits were 1x of each ship, there are some multiples I could not run.
In CASUAL play, I’d just... not care and make do until I COULD afford it, or at least admit in doing it to be competitive...

Nah, just slap a couple Z-95 bases on the extra X-Wings. If it’s just casual, who cares? All you NEED the bases for is checking arc and the little white lines for BRs and T-rolls and whatnot.
as for dials, just modify some old v1 dials or write them on slips of paper. Boom. Done. Saved $50. You’re welcome. ![]()
