Do you have a source for that? I remember somewhere it being said that one of the big reasons for the new edition was to update the dials on old ships with the more recent maneuvers, specifically citing the tie fighter as getting s-loops.

The TIE/ln dial did not change. You can see it played in several videos. The only thing they did to the TIE Fighter is nerf Evade and barrel roll.

So the TIE/LN has not a worse dial than the X-Wing T-65? Odd. I would have thought they gave them at some sloops at least. They look rather bad right now. Maybe they are cheap enough that we can use now 10 in one list?

They had a match on stream with Vader + 4 crack TIEs and said Vader was, iirc, 86 points.

The match on I have seen was 200 points. Which equals 100 of the old ones. And it was Stele with 3 Black Cracks and a reaper for 200 points. Does not really look like they got significant cheaper. They died horribile do the U-Wing and X-Wings as well.

The X-Wings got a **** of an upgrade in 2.0, the TIE Fighter got nothing. Perhaps there are some TIE Fighter upgrades we haven't seen yet.

RIP Baron Valen Rudor. Always the buttmonkey, never the bride.
Personally I feel that the pack should have 6-8 ties and 4 interceptors. The arguments about the gozanti upgrade having ties holds no real weight as we don't know when, if and how epics will be released. It's safe to assume it could be year(s) until we hear anything about that. It's a massive missed opportunity to not roll epic play into the core rules. There's going to be a real premium/market for trading x65 and tie fighter component from these kits and I think that's an issue before it's even released.
On the tie charges (or lack there of) I'd be surprised and disappointed if ties were not more agile then T65s in v.2 but I guess the devil will be in the detail.

Rudor is now a defender pilot.

They didn't say that this was an exhaustive list, just that these were some of the pilots that would be force sensitive and that yes, generic pilots can use the force too.

Can we now please increase the number of tie fighters and interceptors? One conversion kit leaves me short 5 ties and 4 interceptors, but I've got way more of most everything else that I need. (3 strikers? 3 inquisitors? 2 punishers? Someone actually bought a *second* punisher?).
They haven't broken down what the cards are made of though. 4x TIE Fighter cards, may be 1 Academy, 2 Black Squad, and Mauler Mithel.
I love to use Howlrunner and Obsidians, It would be nice to know which pilot cards we're receiving. (They do it for 5-Rings and the LCGs - I hope it's not going to be some random Trading Card style)
If I am not getting 4x all the generic TIEs and at least one copy of each unique pilot I am going to be pretty pissed. ?

the TIE Fighter got "reverse things"
i.e, everything else got nerfed
reinforce, evade, action-independent defensive modifications, hyper-maneuverability, regen, ptl's gone , turrets gone
it's a brave new world for the humble TIE!
...oh wait, it's still 3 hull, 3 agility
**** this ship, I'm out!

Well they have confirmed that, so you should be okay.

That's fair. The TIE hasn't changed, but everything else has changed around it. Time well tell if this is favorable for the TIE, but it would have been nice to have gotten sloops or a linked evade or something.

Now thinking about it. Actually I am going to be pissed if they don't include the unique ones more than once. I have been using two Corran Horn Miranda lists together with my wife for example. So missing unique pilots might be actually even worse than missing generics.

Well now you're in trouble, as there is only one copy of each unique in each box.

That reminds me, I’m gonna have to bum an extra Punisher upgrade off someone, since the kit only comes with two. ?
36 minutes ago, HolySorcerer said:Well now you're in trouble, as there is only one copy of each unique in each box.
Now I am in trouble twice, because now you can not just trade in a few ship conversions, because they are worthless without the unique pilots for people who don't have at least one kit. You can not share them with a buddy either and my wife will be super pissed. Unbelievably super pissed.
I am just pissed enough that that boycott OP and enjoy self-printed cards then. No conversion kits for me in that case. What were they thinking?

*I* think it needs to be:
3 TIE Advanced
2 TIE Advanced Prototype
2 TIE Aggressor
4 TIE Bomber
4 TIE Defender
6 TIE Fighter
4 TIE Inteceptor
2 TIE Phantom
2 TIE Punisher
2 TIE Striker
That definitely doesn't happen to exactly correspond to my actual collection!
11 hours ago, Rakky Wistol said:$100 to be able to fly a tie swarm in 2.0 is a really tough sell.
$50 and I can’t even use all my old in faction ships and am getting less than the other factions is starting to sound familiar...at least we know one thing they didn’t change in 2.0- 2 actually.
You know what's a good sell? Being able to actually fly a Tie Swarm again.
So...probably 2 conversion sets plus a core set needed to get a TIE striker swarm up to speed.
Hmm. Ouch.
Not unexpected, but still ouch.
But yes, if you fly big-swarm-of-generics (like TIE fighters) it's hardly surprising you'll need 2 sets. Unfortunately swarm players like me need to be heavy on the cardboard.
And yes, allowing basic TIE fighters to cope is a very good thing.

I mean...I did because Accuracy corrector Advance sounded like the absolute **** NO DICE, BABY!!!!
then i remembered green dice still existed ?
I've got four of the little beasts. Most I've got of any ship other than Interceptors and the stuff that came in Core Sets. Flew three AC Tempests and Soontir for a while right after the Raider dropped and had some decent success with it.
