They have updated the FAQ for the 2nd edition. It now shows 2 Decimators instead of 3. Also, I think before it had 2 GUNBOATS, but now shows 3. There may be other changes I haven't noticed...

still only 2 defenders, but that's not the worst thing ever

Rebels: 3 a-wings but 2 x-wings
Imperials: 3 inq's ties, 3 aggressors, 3 strikers but 2 advanced, 2 defenders.
People are far more likely to have extra of those ships instead of what they choose to give us. 2 x-wings only will be screaming for a lot of extra rebel kits, I can see some people wanting at least 3+ just for the x-wing dials, at which point they would be better off just buying 2.0 x-wing packs to have the pivoting wings. Which means some x-wings will not be compatible with 2.0 due to cost. Empire can live with 1 extra if you had many advanced or defenders, but they could have easily given us -1 inq and -1 striker for 3 of them.

You have to have a 2.0 Core set in addition to the conversion kit, so that's 3 X-Wings worth of cards/cardboard, if you need a fourth then Saw's Renegades or the 2.0 T-65 expac will have you covered.

well, if you're playing x-wings in the 5 months till 2.0, you're buying Saw's
Saw's X-wing already gives you a 2.0 x-wing
then there's the one in the core set
so four to start with
if you're playing more than four X-wings in 1.0, you're probably buying two Saw's because there are only 3 renegade refits. Now you got five x-wings

In the datamining thread many people report having 4 x-wings. If you get 2 Saw's, you still have 2 x-wings without dials, which means 1 x-wing will be sad (cap at 5? I can't see 6 being cost legal). You will have to buy 1 new t-65 x-wing, and you will have 1 x-wing that cannot be ported to 2.0.
And I will still play in the months leading to 2.0, and no, I do not plan on buying Saw's Renegades, despite playing rebels. Even if it has 2.0 content, it is still expensive and the kits plus core are already expensive enough, which have higher priority. Now, if Saw's had 2.0 content that you couldn't otherwise get anywhere else, I would buy it eventually, but it would only reinforce the fact that they are being more greedy than necessary.
