Hi all, I've been out of the game since wave 5, (saw there was a recent FAQ) just curious as to what I might need these days for competitive play (as considering playing some tourneys again). Rebs or Imp.
i.e. just main things in the meta that may have missed me by
Been out for a while...
Squadron screen is pretty mandatory I find, especially with the prevelance of sloane and aces. Lists tend to lean towards two large ships or many small ships as well, with flotillas still being relatively popular. ECM or EWS is also a must have for most players, and missions tend to lean towards the likes of most wanted/adv gunnery, Contested outpost, and sensor net/solar corona still remain popular.

Ok, so not massive changes since then. Nice to see big ships make a come back. ECM (check), but EWS? I'm not familiar on that shorthand (or I've forgotten ha!)

EWS = Early Warning system. You put a token on one of your hull zones at the start of each turn and are obscured for all incoming fire (including squadrons).
Other cards to look out for:
Strategic adviser (chimera/MC75) pack. Good to give you the effect of more activations when taking a large ship.
Disposable Capacitors (quasar) allows blue dice to fire at long range one turn only. Great for VSD-IIs and reasonable for Raider-IIs.
QBTs (Quad Battery Turrets) Adds a blue if the enemy are faster than you. Great for slow VSDs, MC80Cs/As, Salvation, Paragon AF-IIs.
Raddus and Sloane are probably the best of the newer admirals.
Extrnal Racks are a cheap Ordnance upgrade for one nasty punch. Nice on VSD-Is or to keep the cost of raiders and Hammerheads down.
Nice one, those are all new to me (bar the QBTs). Many thanks
