The only negative reactions I have noticed so far concerns the huge cost of upgrading our current fleets.

I personally don't have any issues because 1 pack of each covers me (although I own only 3 rebel ships), but there are a lot of people that would need at least 2x packs for some factions.

The price is a joke, I think we all know that, no need to defend FFG guys, let's just accept it's a money grab and move on.

But the thing is, if they also release some mini packs, they could make those huge margins but also save us a lot of money. They could even sell them only directly from their online store, since I doubt retail stores would order a ton of single ship upgrade kits.

If you do the math, I think that even if they overpriced them, we the customers still stand to gain if it spare us purchasing an entire pack.

Not happening.

If you want singles of conversion pack stuff, there will be plenty of resellers to oblige you.

Not just resellers, at launch there will be a ton of players looking to split/trade conversion kits.

Compared to how much X-Wing usually costs? Not in the slightest.

What you're paying for is the design work and this is about ten or so ace packs' worth in one box. Especially if I'm right about all ships having at least four named pilots now.

Yeah that will definitely be the picture, but why wouldn't FFG (which Is already playing the greed game) want to get in the action there and sell a pack to you?

The ONLY (maybe not) or best way I see this happening is if they did a Kickstarter campaign for it. They could offer single upgrade packs for every ship and only produce as many packs as people "ordered" through the KS.

That way they aren't having to essentially guess at the demand for each ship. It will be a one-time thing, FFG will know the demand, they will already have the funds to do it.

Edit: This could be a good PR move too for (basically) everybody complaining about how there are too few of this ship or too many of that (Decimator) ship.

Imo, it really should have been, but what can you do?

Don't quote me on this, but a little birdie told me that the single-ship upgrade packs will be coming out at the same time as the card-only packs for 1.0.
