I think they are hilarious Cheese like that really makes games more enjoyable for my game group. We also love Shadespires flavour-texts (especially Arnulfs specific upgrade, utterly useless, but oh so over the top).

Most of the pilots have call-signs. Luke's is Red Five for example.

They have to put "the RAC" under Chirpy

All the HWK pilots better be ‘Living the Dream’ or else I’m out

It's a subtitle like in Destiny - it means you can get "Joe Gunsworth: Mega Ace" and "Joe Gunsworth: Terrible Scrub" as two separate unique pilots with different costs and abilities.

It's just cleaner design and solves the "old new Han" or "new old Han" problems.

I had not thought of that, I actually saw it as very unclean and unnessasary design but allright, they have a valid reason to excist. Now can we just have something less lame for some of them.... Except for Talonbane Cobra, I expect him to have the lamest tag of all time!

I'm not a wild fan, but it's not affecting me much, and yeah, it means it's a lot easier to distinguish between different versions of a pilot.

Personally I think they're most likely just to be fluff without any mechanical effect but... they're not harming anything.
