For new players: 8 hits point per capital region

By phobiandarkmoon, in Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game

This appears to be no-where in the rulebook, on components or on any threads that I can find - I had to view the TUTORIAL to find this out.

So, for new players: 8 hits points to a capital region, +1 per development in that region.

To be honest the structure of the rulebook is pretty poor making the information stupidly hard to find but both of these things are mentioned in the rulebook, in the same paragraph in fact:

Page 11 of the rulebook

"During the capital phase the active player also has the option of playing a card face down as a development in any of his zones. One development can be played per active player per turn. A development adds 1 hit point to the zone in which is was played. Each zone starts with 8 hit points . . . "

and apparently, according to official rulings, if you kill off8 developments in a zone, the zone burns.

;)

Errrrr..... no.

can anyone clarify what this means then? from the official ruling thread.

"Q: If a zone has developments destroyed so that it would have enough damage on it to burn it, does it burn? A: yes"

Zone burns if its damage >= 8 + # of developments it has.

This question is just a reclarification of that concept. If you have 9 damage, and the zone has 2 developments, if one of those developments are destroyed (of if it takes one more damage) burn time

that sentence has to be one of the worst worded rulings in the history of rulings. Even with you explaining it, i still can't grasp it. please explain like you are explaining to a preschooler. use crayons.

question from what you just typed. How in the world do you get 9 damage on your zone?

If a zone had 2 developements on it it would have 10 health (8 + developements)

If that zone had 9 damage onit and one of the developements managed to get destroyed, it would only have 9 health left (10 - 1 developemnt.)

The zone would be burned

Hope that clears things up.

Let's say your Kingdom zone has two developments in it for total HP of 10 (8 + 1 + 1).

Your opponent has managed to inflict 9 damage over the course of the game.

Your opponent plays Demolition! targetting one of your developments in that Kingdom zone.

The development is destroyed, but this reduces your Kingdom's total HP by 1, making it only 9 (10 - 1; or 8+1, whichever is easier to grasp).

As the zone now has damage on it (9) equal to its HP (9) the zone burns.

Hopefully this clears it up :)

i get it now. Boy do i feel dumb.
