What are your top 10-ish ships to try out in 2nd Edition?

I am so stocked for this and have been thinking about all the things changing ever since I've seen the trailer. I'm really curios about what excites everyone around here, too, and would love to engage in some wild and baseless speculation!

So, here are my top 10-ish (no particular order) ships I am looking forward to the most and why I do so:

  • TIE Punisher! I love that dorky little hunk of plastic. I suspect getting material for all 4 of mine together will be quite easy and they will have me experience the full extent of the overhauled munitions. I expect huge changes to this ship, as well as...
  • The TIE Bomber! Same reason, pretty much. I'm curious how well these two will be differenciated and am looking forward to seeing how well they mix and match with each other and their faction.
  • B-Wings! They were, along with the next ship, my first love in X-Wing. And their most fun Adv. Sensor configuration is not at all harmed by the nerf to Adv. Sensors...
  • HWK-290! I have high hopes here. The support abilities demonstrated by the U-Wing were magnificent in the showmatch and this is the opportunity to make this the ship it always strived to be while also improving the dial and attack power.
  • Lamda Shuttles, because dang, that new aux arc is looking hot!
  • TIE Interceptors - will they finally be a fun ship rather than the polarising 'either I play solo and your descisions are barely relevant or get curbstomped by higher PS/turrets'? I hope and expect so. It is a beautiful ship, but I always despised its implementation in the game. With the changes to actions, this seems to be a ship that is guaranteed to change a lot!
  • Firesprays! New base, making it much less clunky to use the aux arc, finally in its correct place.
  • TIE Advanced! I've never owned this iconic ship, just because it was not worth it to me to get a Raider to make it useful. Welp, that concern is out the window! I'm also curious how force powers will feel in play.
  • Mist Hunter! I've always loved the model, but the ship was just dull and bad, so I've fielded it exactly once.
  • Fang Fighter! Never owned this one, either, so I'm happy to get started with all new shiny models.
  • All the battle of Yavin stuff! There is so much just within wave 1 that is new that I think just this will already demonstrate so much! Mobile arcs on Y-Wings! Very powerful Luke! Properly swarming TIE Fighters! I'll probably run some demo games with just this stuff to get some new players hooked, too.

Lambdas with buttguns. Medium base Reapers. Turreted Decimators and Punishing Ones. Anything I've painted but rarely pull out, like the G1A. Anything I can use my ridiculous turtle spaceship to proxy for, like the Shadow Caster. StarVipers, just to see what they're going to work like. OT TIEs, generally, because I've not played them much at all recently. The Kimo, the TIE/ag, etc.

Basically everything I've not played much because it's been a bit crap.

The HWK, because you know they wouldn't screw it again. Also the StarViper out of pure love for it, and A-Wings and Y-Wings!

Uuuh totally add Star Vipers to my list, I loved them so much when they were released! 100% sure they will keep their funky barrel roll, too, no reason not to with the white line on the one bank template.

I realy only have 3. They’re my babies in 1.0 and I look forward to seeing them in 2.0:

1. HWK-290 (Scum) - What will happen to Palob & Torkil with the changes to action economy and compression of Pilot Skill? Will Dace be better?

2. Scyk - Gotta have me some Sunny Bounder.

3. U-wing - Barrel rolling U-wing jank with EH is my jam right now, but I want to give those Medium bases & 90 degree turn a try.

1. Tie Phantom, one of the most interesting ships in imperial arsenal and i'm curious what are they going to do with this one.

2. Biggs. Not x wing as a whole, just biggs. His nerf made me really sad, but now it looks like he's making a comeback.

3. E-wings, this ship needed a revamp for a while.

4. Milleniun Falcon, which finally won't feel dirty.

5. Ywings, just because its an y wing and tlt will be a thing of the past.

B-Wing, A-Wing, Firespray, ARC-170, Fang, Scyk, and TIE Interceptor.

I'm excited to fly all the previously unloved Scum ships, such as ordnance Y-Wings, the G-1A, HWKs, the Firespray... So many possibilities!
