Whiners gonna whine

By Wh0isTh3D0ct0r, in X-Wing

So yesterday in my local community, it was all "X-Wing has too many problems! Too many things are O.P.! The game is too bloated! FFG, please make it better! Give us more ships, more upgrades, anything! We'll do anything! We'll pay anything! Just fix it! Take all my money!"

Today, it's "*gasp* How dare you change things, FFG?! I'm gonna have to spend more money?? The game was great the way that it was! Everything is ruined forever! Now I can never play X-Wing again, and I'm boycotting you and all your families and their dogs, too!" ? ?

Anyone else having this problem in their local X-Wing community?

Response from my group seems overwhelmingly positive, I'm so excited personally

group's been aokay with 2.0

now $ is always a legitimate concern (it's ******* money ) but the biggest thing I've heard from people online is OMG $250 dollars!!!

and here I am sitting wondering how the **** you are going to be able to jump around between 3 factions and all those options. how many nights of binge x-wing would you need to go through to make not having access to EVERYTHING be a legitimate concern

idk, I think people really need to calm down and take it one step at a time. We don't even truly know

a.) if the game will truly be any good/balanced

e.) if you can even fly x amount of ships in the same list

C.) if the ships you loved from 1.0 will be those same ships in 2.0, or even turn into something you will love

2.0 is going to mandate a LOT of exploration, and a single conversion box gives you tons of things to dig through right off the bat

Knee-jerk reactions, for sure. This is DAY ONE. There's SO much to chew on, and SO much more to come.

it's actually...5(?) months till day one ?

Seems to me that the people who are whining the most about the price of the 2.0 stuff are A.) completionists, B.) X-Wing addicts, and C.) looking for someone else to blame for their financial issues.

For me, a $40 core set and $50 conversion kits are a huge bargain for something that allows me to convert my existing collection to a newer, improved version of a game that I already love so much so that I don't have to completely dump thousands of dollars-worth of X-Wing 1.0 products.
