One thing of possible real interest - while the obvious conclusion to draw from introducing 'Force' upgrades and droid-specific upgrades is one thing - it opens up new possibilities, too. Depending on how deeply FFG wants to dive into the EU...

Force tokens regen one per turn at the end of the round. This makes the new Vader nuts.

Hold up. Isn't maarek stele a force user? Anyone else hoping for gunboat maarek with the force?

Nah, that's why I'm pointing at Clone Wars as the only real obvious use for this.

I mean, even Ezra Bridger, who we see actually swinging a lightsaber and doing Force Pushes and mind controlling animals ...has only a Force rating of '1'. It seems that the EU concept of "Force-sensitive" without being a full-on Force User isn't something that Disney is bringing forward.

i don't think luke abilities is so strong as to be overpowered as some people are saying, he have basically poes ability from 1.0 with a little more flexibility. without force upgrades he will basically atack, maybe spend tokens to change focus to hit (like poes do with a focus). then be atacked recover one that he can use to change one focus to evade on defense (the ability he has on 1.0).

It will be a little diferent becouse if he is not targeted he cannot recover, so he cannot use again on the next atack (unlike poe). I don't think it is sooo strong. What will make the diference is what force upgrades will be avaliable to him.

Unless the force tokens regen naturally, Lukes ability is just a slightly different version of his old ability.

to be absolutely fair, Ezra is a total dweeb

except it can power his offense, certain upgrade cards, and exists in a world where action efficiency may be at a premium

from what little we know, he's easily one of the best pilots

It can do all that ONCE, unless he is getting shot at, and if he is getting shot at and not using his ability on defense he is going to die sooner.

It is definitely buffed, but I am just not seeing the changes taking a below mediocre ability and making it super strong.

I could be wrong though. If I am, bring it up sometime and I will freely admit it.

If he gets shot, he gets a force back before dice

So his "old ability" is always on

And that's kinda good imo. The force is strong with this one

On the subject of evade tokens being changed, this may make Coordinate that much better.

Since we can't use PtL to token up anymore, support ships like the Upsilon and Reaper become much more attractive.

It was speculatin based on the purple triangle next to the force rating on most of the pilots...

So I'm guessing:

Kaanan and the Inquisitor will have 2
Kylo and Rey will have 3
Assaj could have 2 or 1, depending on how much the Force is considered a niche of the Empire and Rebels.

I think Maul crew might give Ezra a +1 force rating. I'd love that. He might also give some force rating on the ship he sits on.

I'd really like if Corran and Marek also got a Force rating of 1.

We've already seen Maarek's card - no Force ability.

Sadness. Still hadn't had the time to watch that

Unfortunately we can see that Marrak doesnt have a force rating.

I'm on board with Corran (I jedi), Kyle Katarn (Jedi Knight games), Kanan Jarrus of course, Zuckuss, and even Generic Gand Findsmen having a FR of 1-2

There is Vader too in the video

Ahsoka should probably also have a force rating, I imagine her ability will probably be to spend a force token to do what she does now

Honestly, I kind of like that they have a bunch of broadly similar abilities with different names. It means that the rules for one can be tweaked without affecting the others, it means that you can issue upgrades that call out one but not the others, and honestly, it adds flavour. I'm also happy to see many of the more frustrating 'every round forever' abilities being made much more limited, meaning both that choosing to use them is not automatic - when did you last see Vader only take one action in combat - but also that things *run out* meaning that dragged-out endgames are much less likely. Can't just have an infinite one-damage-off with a regen ship when it can only regen 3 times in the whole game.

I'd like to know more, obviously, but honestly, I've hyet to see a single change to the rules which feels negative to me. Everything so far feels like a step in the right direction, or at worst, standing still. Nothing's gone backwards.

I'd love it if Carnor and other Royal Guard Pilots had force ratings. They were (old)canonically force users, and Carnor was a pretty buff one.

RE: Corran having the Force: They need to give him at least a minor Force ability or they're just not even trying.

I’ve been wondering that myself. Does force come back? Thematically, it would seem like it should, but the fact that Luke’s ability specifically addresses him regaining force suggests it doesn’t, otherwise his ability isn’t particularly good.

If you have to spend an action/stress yourself to recover Force, Luke's ability to recover it passively would be... pretty darn good. As well as that it is (apparently) not limited to once per round, so every time he defends he will have a Force token to spend, meaning his 2.0 ability effectively does exactly the same thing as his 1.0 ability, but with the added flexibility of being able to bank the token if you didn't need it on defense. That sounds like a solid ability to me.

A force-powered ability to double tap would be a nice way to redo his ability.

The video play through with BoLS had Luke and Vader.

Did it have any PS clashes? I really want to know how those are handled, and I'm willing to watch it before I go to the FLGS tonight to find out...
