Jedi Star prep/recruitment thread

By Tramp Graphics, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Hi, wondering if I could still join this game? I'm a new player to the series, just started playing recently and I've just looked through the beginner game. I was hoping I could join you guys to guide me along how to play too. If it is not possible for me to join, is it ok if you could direct me to other people who are also having their own roleplays online?

Sure you can join. There's still room on the ship. The ship can carry up to 22 total passengers and crew combined. Read the first post of this thread for the character requirements. You'll need two characters, one starting level native F&D character, one "Signature" character between 1500 and 2000 XP using any career and specs from any of the three lines, which can be either a newly made character (1500 XP) or a character previously played in a different campaign, even converted from D6 or D20. We use swsheets.com for posting characters, and the Orokos Dice Roller for dice rolling.

now that knights of fate is out, I'm tempted to reprise Elias Windrider as a Steel Hand Adept/niman disciple (not sure which of those 2 first)/sentry, and Maybe padawan survivor as a 4th spec. Either Steel Hand Adept or Niman Disciple works as a first spec narratively because Elias learned force sensitive martial arts on Ossus from his father Coniah before heading to the Yavin Jedi academy (but that continuity would need to be reworked) pretty sure I could build him as I want him using less than 1400 xp.

My apprentice character would be Elias' son a half Zeltron/half human (using falleen stats) and I'd be willing to have Korath as his Jedi master (I think that I'd tolerate that better than anyone else in the group), with the explanation that Elias doesn't want to be his son's master so that he won't show favoritism to his own son.

Thanks very much! I was just wondering what's the diff between the ic and ooc pages? And how exactly do i send in my actions etc? I will make the ocs and post them hopefully by today on the board too. Thanks alot!

IC= in character

OOC= out of character

post in IC if your character is doing something and OOC if not

Given the time frame, any children Elias had would be no more than a small child of five or six years old, not old enough to adventure.

What about Elias' jerk younger brother, that he's hoping Korath can straighten out (good luck with that)

Hi, so I made the starting character (not the master one) already. May you look at it to see if it's ok? It's my first time ever creating a character so...

Hey, is it ok if someone helps me look through the character to see if it's ok? Not sure if I did it correctly. I'm currently making the master one and am probably going to send it later today or tomorrow.

OVerall, not bad. I would like more of a physical description of the character though, not just personality.

First spec would be magus, angling toward either juyo berseker and/or niman disciple for the force magics . Yeah he's going to have some serious darkside tendencies/flirting and will talk smack to Korath. Good luck... your going to need it.

A little better. I would recommend picking up at least a basic Utility belt as well.

Here's my interpretation of your character:

Yup, added the belt and put in encumbrance(didnt noe how to calculate it last time). Thanks for the pic! Though his hair is a bit longer, abit similar to anakin's hairstyle in ep 3

Your two characters can’t know each other. It’s one of the rules listed in the first post.

@Tramp Graphics

Here is the master character, Stormbourne is helping me check something with the GM about credits, but other than that, everything is done skill, talents and force wise. Morality, backstory and all the lore parts too.

Not bad, but her Morality is too high, unless @Rabobankrider approved it. Given that you’re creating this character from scratch, and assuming that you went with the start at light side paragon option, her “starting” Morality should be 71, not 80. That she has to earn during game play.

Also, if your starting character’s core name is spelled Tino, you might want to respell his full name. Other than the addition of apostrophes, the spelling of a Chiss’ core name doesn’t change when incorporated into the full name.

Also, what’s your Master character’s last name? Miraluka do go by a first and last name.

Oops my bad, will add them in.

Also, if your master character is an Ascetic , remember that the Ascetic tree has a number of talents that require the character to maintain an encumbrance of 2 or less worth of gear, so heavy armor would not be a good idea.

When you put armor on, it's enc is reduced by 3 so if you choose armor that is enc 3 or less it counts as zero for the ascetic. Also the ascetic will want a jedi utility belt that comes with a whole lot of gear which because it comes with the jedi utility belt counts as ZERO-zero enc total instead of an otherwise large amount. Note that the 10 individually zero enc items count as 1 enc, does NOT apply to the gear that comes with the jedi utility belt. Zero means "ZERO" in this case.

So the rule is such that you could have 2 enc and 9 zero enc items (after whatever reductions are applicable) and still use the 3 talents, iron soul, empty soul, and the pain/scream one whose name I forgot.

The third is called Mind Bleed and is a Conflict talent.

And yes, that is why I said “heavy” armor. Most of your hard armors (2+ Soak) exceed 3 Encumbrance.

@Tramp Graphics yup, i got the encumbramce thing in mind, so my total encumbrance is at 2 now.

Just wanted to make sure. Most “Ascetic” types tend to wear simple garb, so, actual armor seemed a bit out of character. I don’t have a problem with it, but the encumbrance issue did come to mind as a potential pitfall. Of course, “customizable” armor covers a wide range of designs. Also, I recommend picking up a Jedi Utility Belt. It will grant you several pretty necessary pieces of gear without increasing your encumbrance.

Ok, how much is it? My armour is customisible armour with the lightweight function, so its encumbrance is basically 0 when worn.
