Nerf ALL turrets to range TWO or reduce their firepower at range 3..... Reduce the size of the firing Arc make it just the small arc like the Kimogila fighter.. And for very wishful thinking give each ship class its own maneuvering templates... make the game play more on maneuvering combat.. just my thoughts...

Also - for turrets at least - the range modifiers apply. So, sure, a bonus at r1, but penalty at r3. (No idea if that's more widespread into secondary weapons beyond just turrets, but in the demo video they called that out for the ion turret shot specifically)
An alternating initiative mod, please.
Gameplay that rewards synergistic squad builds instead of dropping all of your points into 2-3 similar ships. (i.e. running TIE/LN's with Bombers, Gunboats, etc instead of all bombers or all aces)
