2.0: Are you in or are you out?

By Jadotch, in X-Wing

I'm out.

Meaning, I will continue to play my 1st Edition and will not buy the 2nE stuff.

EDIT: Just explaining myself. Many changes are really welcome: medium bases!!, fixed turrets, more dogfighting, the newer maneuvers to the old ships, dynamic costs, the freaking Force... and I'm really hopeful they will better balance the ships now. BUT, I would prefer if they didn't depart so much from the 1st edition. I would prefer that I didn't need to buy ANOTHER core set - and could continue to use my tokens, damage deck, etc. I would prefer if I didn't need to check on an app what upgrades I can put in my ship. And I hated how they washed away the "Star Wars elements" from the cards and components' designs, making the game look too generic.

I've been out for a year now and hoping for an expansion that got me excited for the game again. Last thing I bought was Hired Guns, and it's still sealed. I never bought the wave with the Phantom 2, Gunboat, and Kimogila.

I'm back in when 2.0 drops. Full stop. Can't wait to fly again.

Once the dust settles, I predict 95% of people who threaten to quit will be back playing 2.0.

Not that I'm taking a side here. I'm annoyed at the way this is being handled, but I'm in for the long haul, and probably not going to bail out. Gotta at least see how this new version plays.

I'm as much in as i can possibly be. So hyped!

Totally in

I'm in...for waiting for more dang details before making a decision I can make at any time even post-launch

This basically. A friend is investing into legion right now and I am not one bit tempted to do the same, but tempted to just play with him.

X-Wing currently competing with a lot of other interesting things for my time. Long-term I might be in, but right now? I rather play the remastered X-Wing on PC. ?

WAY too early to say, we dont know jack about the new rules or upgrade system.

But, I has no skilz.

I'm in. All of the changes look to be improvements, and I don't have to buy everything all at once. A new starter and the Rebel conversion kit in September, and I'm good for several weeks. I'll pick up the other kits as I go along.

I'm all in.

not to disparage the very real costs of the conversion kits, but you do you don't need to convert your entire collection all at once, right?

I'm probably sticking to one faction for a while at launch, until I learn how the new game will play out

Which faction? that depends on which is better: the new ARC or Punisher ?

I will do like I did with the expansions. Limit myself to $50 a paycheck. (I limited myself to $35 for the expansions for 1.0 unless it was a special occasion to buy an Epic. Eventually I will get there.)

I also expect quite a bit extras on E-Bay for people like me who want the exact amount of ships they have, no more and no less.

I’m a bit different as I left 1st Edition a while back due to many issues, so the question is whether I come back, rather than stay.

Really it depends purely on whether I need to buy unwanted or out of faction ships to get cards, like 1st ed. If I don’t, there’s a good chance this will address many issues and I’ll buy back in....if I would still need to, not a chance in ****.

It's run its course unless the prices change.

With five months to come up with the moneys.... Consider me in.

UNRELATED:

Does anyone want a PS3 or fixie bike??

In. I bought one conversion kit and one core set. That's all I need.

Probably in, with some caveats:

- Put everything I need to upgrade in the UPGRADE kit - damage deck, tokens, etc. I do NOT need to buy yet another core set.

- Fix the quantities in the upgrade kits. I suspect this is related to making us buy another core. I won't buy more than one upgrade kit in any case - I'll proxy my X-Wings, TIEs, and Interceptors.

- Most importantly - I can only be in if the people I play with are in. If they don't upgrade, there isn't much point in me upgrading.

Then politely ask the the Mrs.?

Looks like Nova (happens 2 weekends before official release) will be the last major 1.0 event. I’ll make my decision then. But $300 to convert my collection is telling me no atm.

If it was a mandatory 300 dollar buy in to continue playing then maybe not, however 50 dollars for your main faction to test the water is reasonable. Personally I think the game has needed 2.0 for about 2 years now and I'm glad it's been released before the game is suffocated under its own upgrade bloat.

As long as the changes don't completely shelf Dash, HFIL yeah.

I have not been this upset since I heard that ben affleck was cast as batman.

It would be $100 then. No way I’m converting rebels without being able to run quad B-wings straight off the bat... of course EBay will hopefully soften this blow a little bit. I don’t know, I really need more info first.
