Really simple....will I still need copies of all cards I want to use for organised play, or will the app cover it?

Because as great as the changes sound, there’s no chance I’m getting back into the “buy ships you don’t want to get a card” trap again.

Almost certainly.

I mean, we haven't heard either way, but it's how they make their monies on this thing, and I can't see that changing any time soon.

With Legion, you never have to buy boxes of another faction to get all the upgrades for your own.

There's a chance they've learned. Not a sure bet, but it's worth hoping.

Yes. The cards themselves won't change. The App will hold upgrades and point costs and such, everything else is the cards. And, lets face it, for 6+ round events there is a significant power drain on your tablet requiring frequent charging (an issue at many FLGS) or several battery banks.

They certainly claim that you won't need to buy into another faction to get non-faction-specific upgrades, and the fact that R2 astromech is in the new X Wing and in a Scum pack supports that. They seem to have moved away from that model with all their other games, too.

But there's absolutely 0 chance you'll be able to to OP tournaments without all the official components for your list.
