I was fine with the conversion kits for $50 a pop since they came with so much.

I was excited for an actual official app.

The new cards look nice, although a massive opportunity of making the pictures bigger was wasted - instead they feature a lot of wasted blank space again.

I was worried about the mercurial squad point cost of upgrades based on game mode - feels like FFG wants to take power/ability/ownership away from its players, akin to the way "cloud" or subscription media services tout how much better not having a disc is and fooling people into not actually owning content anymore (i'm sorry it's not but I digress).

Then I saw $20 for small base ships. FFG has effectively increased the cost of the game by 33% with the snap of a finger.

I was wondering where my jumping off point would be. Now I know.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Instead of waiting to see what all is in store and why those packs cost that way, and if those will stay the same for the new ships to come, you rather proclaim doomsday, much like every other player deemanding a company bend to their personal budget. It's your money, spend it how you want, but good Lord, not everyone needs to know you are quiting.

(the models are also new, ie the X-wing's wings move and the model quality is greater, ESPECIALLY the Y-wing)

Well first, inflation. Interest rates have also gone up, so it is expected. Also, the models are getting improvements made to them. Lately they have been making those new small base (now medium) ships come in a big box with a big box cost. They are clearly been wanting to charge more.

If you buy ships off the secondary market (ebay or people jumping out of the game)--especially ones you don't have--you can end up saving $$$ buying those and using the cardboard from the conversion kits.
