Krennic Aces

By Ryuneke, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Do you think Krennic is strong enough to replace palp in an Aces list?

i want to give this a try:

Scarif Base Pilot (22)
Director Krennic (5)
Tactical Officer (2)
Advanced Ailerons (0)

"Quickdraw" (29)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Fire-Control System (2)
Advanced Optics (2)
Lightweight Frame (2)
Special Ops Training (0)

Darth Vader (29)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Advanced Targeting Computer (1)
Engine Upgrade (4)
TIE/x1 (0)

Total: 100

prototype on Vader, cause QD can’t take it. Coord has lots of potential here.

What do you think?

Do you have list suggestions for Krennic Aces?

Yeah, this is going to work well. Whether it's Darth, Fel, or one of the Defender pilots, Krennic and Tactical Officer make some good contributions that might be as good as Palp for roughly the same investment.

You'll have to do something, because pretty soon Palp can't help QD anyway.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

1.0 side, it does seem like krennic is going to give palp a run for his money.

I've had a few fun runs with this and I'm finally starting to see ways to fit the Reaper with my stuff, strictly casuals. Very simple indeed but a nice daisy chain of mods.

V WING (2 Reaper pilots with a V name is no small plus point)

Vader- 34, x1, EU, ATC, Prototype

Vessery- 33, x7

Vermeil- 33, AA, Krenninc, Tac officer

I've found Vader like this just doesn't need any more attack mods and the pre move boost/BR from the TO adds a lot to his game. I've played a couple other options. ISB, Intel Agent and VI or LWF for example.

Keeping all 3 on target for the attack synergy is a major difficulty with my skill, the dial compatibility is um, complex. But there does seem to be a lot of activation options on every turn and no one really loses too much on K Turn/sloop attacks. The TO can help Vader switch his lock before a K Turn as well, ofc.

I feel like the imperial faction as a whole is very V-oriented, I mean you have Valen Rudor, Darth Vader, Colonel Vessery, Major Vynder, Major Vermeil, "Vizier"... anyway this looks like fun, as Vermeil will tend to want to shoot last, and he'll have a TL from Vaders attack, double mods should be relatively easy for both ships.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but what is tac officer supposed to do in any of these lists? QD takes a br and then has no action on her turn? Vader takes a token? Vessery can get a ps 8 br, but with no bid, what ships are you beating? Plus Vermeil won't get his ability at that point. I think so many better options exist for those 2 points. Just my 2 cents; take it as you will.

It's situational. I'd agree there's better things for those 2pts, LWF is a no brainer. But I found a fair bit of use out of the coord. Consider it a plan B thing, say you need to grab/switch a lock or pre move boost/BR for a better position/suddenly necessary arc dodge/avoid a bump. Not things I've planned for but definitely things that have come up and made a big difference.

I need a lot of failsafes to cover my always bad plan A.

You won't always be coordinating, like you won't always be jammin'.

(talking points from memory but) Vizier can give evades to QD and it’s cheaper than than TacOffice so you can fit IR or IA crew
