The game needs it and I'm glad of it, but the sticker shock is going to hurt.
That it's ABSOLUTELY nothign to do with the rules for 1e...
They can jump off.....

Is it written somewhere that these forums are only for 1st Edition? Must have missed that...
That it isn't a rules question at all then, take your pick
Well, I saw the announcement and was excited about it. It's changing a lot of the rules so this seemed like a good forum to post about Second Edition. Apparently it wasn't.
I'm sure we'll have lots of fun discussions about 2.0 rules here, once we get some more information about them.
Then where should someone talk about the announcement?
Cause I have a couple of questions about the upgrade cards It sounds like 1st edition upgrade cards and not gonna be replaced other you to be usable. What do we spend a lot of money on these cards that I'm not would be useful.
in the main forum.
and no your 1e upgrades will not be useful.

In the main form of X wing?
If fantasy flight is not gonna replace The upgrade cards That we all purchased into that My just kill the game for me. If the upgrade cards that came with the ships that we already purchased can't be used and and I could to be replaced in the retro fit To bring Those ships into 2nd Edition along with the upgrade cards the kills a for me.

Yes, as opposed to the rules questions forum.
There are like 50 million threads in there already.

Say he believed there was a good place to post it here. I also came here looking for post about the 2nd edition so apparently we both thought this was a good spot though the only person's has the problem Is you.
Sorry to have posted in the wrong place, but I really did think that this would be a logical place to get some thoughts about the rule changes.
I'll go check out the main X-Wing area. Thanks anyway.
The other point is that right now we know very little about the rules. Scraps and rumours.
There aren't going to be the kind of hard answers we give here for months.
What we know about the 2.0 rules:
Force is a new stat line stat that grants a pilot that many "Force charges", which can be spent to modify one [eye] result. (Apparently there are also card abilities that trigger off them.) Most pilots have zero Force, Luke has two, Vader has three.
Cards have subtitles now, which presumably will be used to distinguish between different versions of Sabine Wren, while still keying the uniqueness rule off the main title.
The "when" timing keyword is replaced with "while".
Everybody has a bullseye arc, but it's not known whether there's any built in rules effect for it. It does trigger certain abilities, like Marksmanship and Crack Shot.
Rules text that references specific firing arcs uses a diagram with shading to indicate the arc.
Repair and Expose are now keywords that represent flipping damage cards face down or up respectively.
Ordnance we've seen is Attack ([target lock]) and doesn't mention spending the TL, which might just mean that that's now folded into the definition of the header. Instinctive Aim (New Deadeye?) implies there are Attack ([eye]) attacks as well.
Limited use cards, instead of discarding themselves, come with some number of [bolt] tokens, and you spend those tokens to activate the card.
Turrets are now represented by mobile firing arcs. PWTs like the Falcon have a two sided turret arc, so they could shoot at e.g. left and right but not fore and aft.
There are now red actions.
Some ships have a secondary action bar, to show specific actions that can be chained off the actions in the basic action bar. For instance, Ten Numb can Focus into a red barrel roll.
Several things I'm missing, I'm sure. The point is, we know a lot of specific things, but not really how they fit together.
The Team Cov demo video confirms that the bullseye arcs all work as the Kimo one does, and block green token spending on defence. Maybe also reinforcing, that's not clear.
I don;t think it's really worth trying to collate all the rule changes. It's a whole new game, we won't know what even a tiny percentage of the changes are before the rulebook gets published or leaked.

When has lack of solid information ever stopped fans from speculating and expressing their hopes and wishes?
Personally, I'm excited for the new firing arcs and seeing how the work/interact with abilities! Sounds interesting and could reward careful flying!!
I'm happy for the 2.0, but I'm quite disappointed because if I already have the 3/5 factions I have to spend 250$...a nd if I want to be honest, it seems like too much money for someone who has supported the game since day one buying everything published till today.

I get that. It's like we need to be in a play group who can pull together money for this stuff.
Been playing this game. Was getting ready to purchase everything. Now there is going to be a second edition which is fine. Agree with some changes and not others. Some changes were not well thought out. Besides that, now I do not see the point of purchasing any of it until 2nd addition is out. Even then. Not sure I will. I have to play it first before I invest anything. It's more cost effective to wait. Monetarily the established players with $800 plus invested in it are screwed. It's at least another $300 to $400 just to be able to continue playing.
