The new single-ship expansions have new cards, right? But the articles say that those new cards are in the conversion kits.

That's the way I read it. Though I doubt that will be true beyond Wave 1.

Sounds like players with those ships won't need to buy the new expansions, correct, as the cards are in the conversion kits. But some of them are new sculpts (X-Wing, Y-Wing and Fang for sure) so even if you have them, it might be worth a couple for new sculpts. The new Fang will rotate, for example.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I am in love with the new 2.0 stuff. I'm just seeing if I really need them.

I think it would be good if they were just for new players. Most players already have all the tie fighters and x-wings they need and would suck if they were forced to buy more. Although I probably will buy the x-wing one so between the starter and saw's exapnsion I will have 3 movable s-foil models
