2E - My one pressing question

By emmjay, in X-Wing

Only saw the templates in the team covenant gameplay, but if it's just that white line... If you can paint a ship you can paint a white line on a piece of cardboard or acryl. For the rolls, it doesn't even have to be long

This is a bonus if you pre-order the core set.

Apparently it will be sold separately at FLGSs as well.

I couldn't tell if barrel rolls were only line to line or if you could slide the ship up to the edge of the template. If it is line to line, you could just use the edge of the template.

The article states preorder bonus from site or FLGS. I will preorder from my FLGS to get both so my son and I will both have a damage deck with only 1 core set.

True for small ships, not sure about medium or large though

Source? Nevermind, it's on the FFG News page.

Here's a quote:

In addition to this updated graphic design, the cards of the T-65 X-Wing Damage Deck have been expanded to a larger size. Rather than using the Mini American Board Game card size, as in the X-Wing Second Edition Core Set , the T-65 X-Wing Damage Deck features damage cards that have been expanded to LCG ® size, making them easier than ever to read and use on the field of battle.

If you’re interested in receiving one of these T-65 X-Wing Damage Decks , there are two easy ways for you to get your copy while supplies last! You can pre-order the X-Wing Second Edition Core Set on our website —everyone who pre-orders at least one Core Set for X-Wing Second Edition on the Fantasy Flight Games website will receive a single T-65 X-Wing Damage Deck for free with their order!

Alternatively, you can talk to your local retailer about getting a T-65 X-Wing Damage Deck with your pre-order. Retailers should reach out to their distributors for more information about the T-65 X-Wing Damage Deck .

Why do they keep calling it the " T-65 X-Wing Damage Deck"?

Is it a limited edition for early adopters/pre-orders?

Did you look at the preview on the news page? It is a special edition (and probably limited edition), large sized damage deck that features an X-Wing schematic on every card with the relevant part of the ship highlighted to reflect what is being damaged.

What will happen with all the 1.0 ships in retailers stock? Will FFG take these back and swap for 2.0? Up to the distributor? Retailer just SOL?

I will be talking to my LGS about pre-ordering today.

It is going to be "alt-art" with the damage the card gives shown on the card on a picture of a T-65. Hence the title. It also seems limited edition to me. Especially if one views it as a way to encourage pre-orders and now suddenly that hard core guy has an extra damage deck to share with those reticent to jump into 2nd.

New players who don't want to wait combined with guys with big collections but extra stuff from their conversion kits...

So, still the same results on the dice, and still the same ugly opaque dice too. Really, why no wide release gem dice?

hmmm, a damage deck showing the different parts of an X-wing being damaged...perfect for Imp players!

Great insight.

Reading the article made me want to pre-order directly, which I've never done, as I usu. buy from my LGS at a small discount for new product.

I was surprised that all the cards: Pilots, Upgrades and now Damage Deck are all going to be of like size.

My FLGS tells me that they expect to give away the damage decks as promo materials with pre-orders. The only thing they weren't sure of (and are waiting for a response about) is whether they would get enough decks to cover all pre-orders.

I think the "normal" 2nd Ed. damage deck will be mini-american size but everything else is going to be standard. I think the article on the promo deck even mentions this. Also judging by the sleeve recommendations for the core set versus the conversion kit.

I'm considering a pre-order directly from FFG as well given the spotty record of the FLGS's distributors with regards to getting this stuff to the FLGS on time. Part of me doubts the FLGS even seeing these promo decks.
