You guys are WAY less bitter than us over on the Armada forums about this. I was curious so I thought I'd wander the forums and see how everyone was reacting. we're pretty close to dumpster fire levels right now.
Hyperspace Report

Ha! I did the same to see what you guys thought about it (ex obsessive armada player, I still have a ton of stuff, just haven't played for a while).
I think it helped that we got sated a few weeks ago with the Lothal announcement, but yeah, the lead up to the report was a h*ll of a misdirect. Also its a shame to see you guys get the FFG silent treatment now! Got my fingers crossed you'll get something soon
Just so I'm clear - the only announcement for any of the FFG Star Wars games at Worlds was the X-Wing 2.0 one?
Seems a bit daft, that.
Guys, I don't want to alienate anyone but the level of fanboy bile is becoming rather ridiculous. FFG will announce and release new stuff for [insert favorite SW IP game] when they are ready, and not a moment before. We're like wailing toddlers who are never satisfied and who rage on Christmas morning because its a full year till next Christmas! Don't be an arsehat... love the game and its makers instead.
Having worked on an franchise product myself (although many many magnitudes smaller than Star Wars) I can confirm that fans are the worst kind of customers :p
You (=no one in particular) are not entitled to rave and spew anger just because you like the game. Enjoy what you already have and look forward to whatever new stuff FFG might produce in the future. To paraphrase Neil Gaiman, FFG is not Your biatch
Fair enough (and I'm sure we've all been here long enough to know how long it takes to drag info out of FFG these days).
But I think the bad testament towards the Hyperspace report was how it marketed, indicating there MAY be news across the range to draw in as much attention and audience as possible, when all it was was an X-wing announcement.
Sure, that's marketing, but it was just a lil bit too misleading for a lot of fans who had their hopes raised by vague language, and in this day and age (especially with the amount of avenues a company can communicate with its customers - and vice versa) that can be a real minefield
Oh, you're right there, 54NCH32; FFG are not masters of communication!

Not at Worlds per se, during the Hyperspace report on Tuesday. So just before/kicking off Worlds you could say.
Edited by Uninvited GuestThat's surprising, and a little disappointing - I know IA had had the Lothal announcement not long before, but would it have killed them to use the last 10 minutes of the HR to cover the other games? Armada, Destiny, the RPGs, etc could all have used something.
Yeah, I think @54NCH32 pretty much nailed it.
As far as I know, we've never had a Hyperspace Report before, and the description of the event really did imply that this would bigger than one single game, if not outright promising it.
(Just in case that image doesn't stay uploaded correctly, which sometimes happens to me, it's text that from the Hyperspace announcement article reads this:)
QuoteOn May 1st at 12:00 P.M. Central Time, we'll be holding the Star Wars Hyperspace Report at Fantasy Flight Games Center- a very special presenttation to give you a look ahead at some of our upcoming Star Wars products.
And like 54 said, I think it really helps that we just had Tyrants announced. Personally, I wasn't expecting much from this event for IA anyway, but can you imagine if we still hadn't gotten any news by last week and still got snubbed at Worlds?
I remember that before Tyrants was announced, I was pretty sure that if we hadn't heard anything before Worlds, it was time to start worrying about IA. Luckily that's not the case for us, but I can definitely see how players from a game like Armada are frustrated. I think it's generally better to vent that frustration in a more productive way, but personally I wouldn't deny them from expressing a little bit of anger at this. Current general levels of communication aside, the Hyperspace Report was handled extremely poorly- and that's even coming from a non X-Wing fan who is actually pretty excited for what was revealed for X-Wing.
"Don't be rude guys, I'm pretty sure we said at some point that with the revamp X-Wing system you could take your Ties and perform and Imperial Assault ... See, it was not just about X-Wing"

One might even say that is your "Destiny" to buy "Legions" of TIES so you can fight the "Rebellion" and their "Armada". See?

Am I a bad person for playing all of those?

Quite the opposite, I'd say. That makes you the best type of person.
