Using Restraints

By Aurans, in Mansions of Madness

The rules don’t answer all my questions on Restraints.

- If a Restraint is placed in a space, how many monsters can it bind?

- If players do not choose to spend a restraint, does it live in a space indefinitely? If so, is its only power allowing moving past monster(s) without an evade check?

Thank you for any answers!

If a Restraint is in a space, and a monster is also in that space, Investigators don't have to perform evade checks when moving out of that space.

In the rules you choose the Monster with the highest Awareness to evade, so it wouldn't matter how many monsters there are as you are only ever actually evading 1 monster by the rules.

Yes, it stays there indefinitely as an anti-evade check device. There is only one way to discard it. The Restraint's second ability is the one that discards it. When a monster activates, you can choose to discard the restraint in its space (or 1 of them in the space, if there are multiple restraints in the space) to cause the monster to forfeit is movement.

@Phoenix_FFG thank you! I was confused by the rule that multiple restraints could be placed in the same space. I guess that applies to discarding them in order to negate monster movement.
