Is Krennic+tac officer/isb better than palp?

Am I crazy to think krennic + other support could be better than Palp on a Reaper or even on Rac? Not convinced but I have a really good feeling when I look at the possibilities of squads that have him.

you're most likely crazy

depends on what "other support" is, but palpatine is notoriously powerful. I don't think a coordinate is really going to push krennic over the edge here.

Besides, Krennic himself seems to really want his caddie in a combat (either the prototype is giving him free TLs or he IS the prototype, giving his ship a free FCS). So, imo, your other upgrades should make the Reaper (because the lambda can't fight for jack) a more combat capable ship. You're probably going to be using your action for the reaper itself rather than as support for other ships. [though technically Jam supports everyone by softening your target]

Kallus is a guy I recently discovered existed, despite having been out a long time. His focus benefit is a fine contrast to Krennic's target-lock, also relevant with all those 2-ship builds running around.

There's also rebel captive to counter expertise, or IBS Slicers for token-stacking imperials (though if you're using IBS and not saving actions for the reaper, you basically have to Prototype another ship or else you're putting all your eggs into a very squishy basket)

for RAC, you get Krennic + Gunner. Could be cool, but you're really tethering your buddy to get the most out of Krennic's abilities and also not supporting him with palp


so, if I absolutely had to guess, Krennic may be worth using over Palp while on a combat reaper

(note: only as a palp v krennic comparison. Whisper, for example, doesn't care about taking palp because she can't ?)

What's this "or"?

The Decimator has 3 crew slots. Krennic PLUS Palp. RAC + Palp + Krennic gives you the ability to really support an Ace - help with attack and defense, and since the ace then feeds TLs back to RAC (and his ability helps with the focus results anyway), you are free to drop the usually-action-wasting 'Expose' on him if you want, since he'll otherwise always have a TL and frequently pseudo-focus anyway, so why not?

Toss Engine Upgrade and Veteran's Instincts on RAC and you start to run out of points for the Ace. QD is already out because she's not Galactic Empire. That leaves Vader, Soontir, or Inquisitor as the Ace? Could be good, unless you run into Reapers! Aces will be a bit unhappy about those Jams generally, I think.

I'm going to be very tempted to try a Buzzsaw Krennic sometime. For 39 points, you could run Vermeil with VI, Krennic (self-optimized), Gunner, Ailerons and LWF. It's effectively a 3/2/6/3 statline at PS8 with FCS and the ability to strip shields even on a miss. If you only roll one hit on the initial attack, you could even choose that to be the die you cancel in order to guarantee the second shot, and you still have 61 points to play with for your backup.

I think running reapers light is the way to go. ISB, LWF and Ailerons takes them to 26 points for a great, maneuverable jouster. I don't think the aces will do much at all, given their low pilot skills.

I've never enjoyed playing against Palp, so a different ace buff will be more than welcome from a game enjoyment point of view.

VI, Krennic, and Tactical Officer on Chiraneau's decimator with last crew of your choice (Gunner, perhaps?) and a PTL Ace to match is certainly an interesting option: Target locks and PS 10 repositions as needed are not to be ignored, and the ability to PTL off of the Co-ordinate can make life exceedingly unpleasant to boot.

Yeah, you've got to be in range 2 of the Decimator to do it, but there are worse fates it the world for the mutual shenanigans provided, especially considering the Dauntless title lets your PWT barge around the table like a lumbering behemoth and not care much to boot...

sure looks better to me. palp can be boba'd off and stops giving benefit when shuttle dies, but optimized prototype carries on. the other thing is the shield + shield removal is often gona be almost as good as adjusting a result, and for 3 points less thats favorable considering target locks

What you give up is costly though. WHether Krennic is better than Kylo is a BIG question.

Personally, kitted-out Reapers are going to be my thing. Buying two of them was the right move.

This looks great. You've got insane maneuverability at speed 1 in addition to everything you mentioned.
