They're going to announce Separatist and Republic factions at the big thingy tomorrow. Upvote if I'm right. Report if wrong.
?
Calling it now...
Obvious troll is obvious
Roger roger.
They will announce cool new tie ins to the current movies. Solo tie ins makes the most sense right now for this game and marketing.
They'd announce Scout Troopers.

Ha. That would be awesome.
I hope so! Announcing a Separatist faction would make me go crazy for Legion all over again!
Reported.
Would be interesting, but I don't think so. Game hasn't been out long enough for them to really do that sort of expansion...
Personally, the only extra faction I could see coming out in the near term is a Fringe/Scum one that can be incorporated with either side.
I really doubt they would jump right to prequel eras when there is just so much of the GCW they can expand on. Also, I didn't even hear about any announcements! That's exciting. :)
Not sure if we even will see anything. Maybe the imperial commando counterparts.
They will announce a new game available in Q4, it will be released in Q1 2019 and they will produce no where near enough.
A 28mm Tabletop Star Wars Skirmish game.

I disagree. Multiple factions need to be established early. You don't want to see an XWing type situation where they have to play catch up.

My post is obviously sort of a joke, but to compete with this game's actual competitors (Infinity, WH40K, Hordes, etc) they really need more factions. If they take too long, people will move on as the hype fades.

I agree with you completely but I don't think it's going to happen.
Also inb4 the big boys coming in to tell us all that we're impatient soyboys.
I expect to see more factions in this game, but for my wallet's sake I hope they don't come soon.

I think they should just bike the bullet and announce Separatist, Clone, Resistance, and First Order now. Even if they are a bit of unfunded mandates..

The issue becomes one of how would they fit it into the game. There is very little overlap between the various eras and there is currently very few options even for the current ones.

Was thinking more like Black Sun and the Hutt Cartels or even the Corporate Sector, mixed in with some that are pretty much factionless.
Something like a planetary militia/security force could be an interesting one where it's more of the locals picking a side and could be either imperials or rebels (or even a decent sized force of them trying to stop the firefight.

So no ewoks
Welp, looks like it was actually only an X-wing announcement. Report away boys :P.
The 2nd ed Xwing is nice, and I look forward to it, but why did they say it was for multiple products?

They should definitely just announce it. There is plenty for them to announce for Prequel era factions and tons of people would love to see it implemented. With the confirmation of Clone Wars factions so many people would guarantee buy into Legion. I for one would buy both CIS and GAR armies and I know a fair few of people in real life that are only interested in Legion if we see more eras. If they just straight up say "Hey we're releasing Clone War era factions in the next year" Nobody would be concerned with them adding more factions because we already know that there is some stuff coming out that is completely new.

Because there were multiple products! New core set, 3 conversion kits, etc. ![]()
Looking back at the announcement article for this presentation, it really is our fault for building anything up:
Quote[...] a very special presentation to give you a look ahead at some of our upcoming Star Wars products.
They never said they'd be discussing news for all of the current product lines. We just added info/meaning to that statement that we wanted to be there.
I can't believe they just announced Gungans are the new 3rd faction.
