I hope this doesn't break any rules, but I made some ship counters based on art out of the battlefleet gothic ruleset. These are designed to work with 1" grids. Hope you enjoy them!

Thanks- these will be helpful. So far we've had a few problems showing direction and position of craft, and we don't have models availabale to us.You can get a bit sick of rubbing out little arrow symbols on maps!

I made a starfield board (see other post about it) and used the asteroid 'stands' from that to make stands for ships. Then I downloaded the ship images from various BFG books that GW has linked on the BFG resources site, printed them on card stock and glued to either side of the stand.

The result is a 2D ship mini that stands well off the board, and easily indicates direction, etc. I'm hoping to someday replace that with BFG minis, but that might be a while.
