Terrain and scenery

By JackyBoyII, in Star Wars: Legion

Hi!

A friend and I believe we could start creating some really great scenery for Legion but wanted some input from people before we went forward. I have a background in 3D modelling and he has been casting and modelling scenery for more years than he cares to mention, so between us we have the skills to create some great pieces!

To get this to work, we would need to raise the funds to get a high quality 3D printer to create the masters then plan to cast these in resin for further production. We have tested this method with one of our designs and I was even blown away by the quality, but outsourcing the master printing would be too cost prohibitive for long term and we would really like to keep the costs down.

So what we would like to know is, for scenery, would you prefer it to come pre painted or do you prefer painting yourself?

If you were to buy scenery for Legion would you be interested in "table packs" (25% coverage of table, as per rules suggestions) or just buy bits and pieces to add to a collection already?

Would you prefer a few detailed pieces that get duplicated across your table, or do you prefer several different designs for the same object (e.g. 1 turret 5x on your table, or 5 different turrets?)

We are currently finalising some designs to show soon, but wanted input as to what people thought first!
