OK, one more. I like this idea, but OTOH I would not want things to get to the point where this was an auto-include on every ship, so the opportunity cost is no other Mods.

Editing for brevity and mirrored word templating from Adaptive Ailerons (for maneuver selection), Anti-Pursuit Lasers (for overlapping), and Proximity Mine reference(for damage application). Then I removed the word 'may' because I think maneuver selection is the 'may' in this scenario, but re-including both 'may's adds less than a line to the text.

Heroic Sacrifice

Small ship only.

Immediately before you are destroyed you must execute a green maneuver. If you overlap another ship, you roll 3 attack dice and that ship suffers all [hit] and [critical] rolled.

Previously posted text for reference:

Small ship only.

When you are destroyed, you may immediately make one final green maneuver. If your ship bumps another ship with this maneuver, you may roll 3 attack dice. The dice cannot be modified. The bumped ship suffers any [hit] and [critical] results. Then remove your ship from play.

Also here's something more Deadman Switch-esque:

Explodium Frame

Immediately before you are destroyed you must place the template from your last maneuver in your front guides. All ships overlapped by the template roll two attack dice and suffer all [hit] and [critical] rolled.

- for simplicity it could be just a 2 template.

Because a proximity mine can't have an available focus or TL. Otherwise, I like.

Attack dice can only be modified (Palpatine and Sunny Bounder excepted) during an attack anyway, so it doesn't matter if you have a token available, you can't spend it.

Otherwise Scum Cloak would be WAY better.

Also, I love the concept, for the record. It's just the kind of thing I'd love to see as an EPT.

But you should phrase it 'immediately before you are removed from play after being destroyed' to avoid timing confusion.

Ah. And since Snap Shot is declared as an attack, it must be stated you can't mod dice (which is what I was trying to emulate, here.).

Correct.

Making Palp and Sunny able to mod it would be great, especially Sunny. I'm just imagining that once in a lifetime shot where you die, charge someone, and roll 3 crits and add a fourth for good measure.

But I'm assuming it's an EPT so it owuldn't be usable on Sunny :(

  • Should Qorl's ability trigger on a critical damage, rather than just regular damage? If so, make it "each time you are assigned a damage card".
  • Tiree's abilty isn't so gamebreaking that it's worth avoiding the kill; maybe one or two free focus tokens. Tiree's main attraction is being a rebel Y-wing with an [elite] upgrade, to be honest!

But what if someone actually gives him Shield Upgrade? He should also BR when he loses a shield token.

If you make it 'damage or critical damage' then it won't be triggered by something like a proton bomb.

If you make it 'assigned a damage card' it won't be triggered by losing a shield if you gave him a shield upgrade.

Pick your poison. I suggest the former condition will come up these days more often than the latter.

I assume this is the case because you are "dealt (handed) a damage card faceup." Isn't that still "suffering damage."

Doesn't a "critical damage" count as a subset of "damage"? Does the wording really need to be that fussy??

*sigh* You would think that a ship getting wounded wouldn't be such a complicated issue.

**long sigh** This game needs keywords.
