Leevan Tenza

By WookieHairdresser, in X-Wing

Has anybody figured this pilot out yet? It's so frustrating to me that it's a boost and not a BR to trigger their ability - that would have been great fun but it seems unless you run R7-T1 (really over costed and so situational), or FAA (the stress then I assume blocking your action step?) you are stuck either paying for engine or keeping the s foils closed?

I guess it was designed to be a boost to your defenses while you run away - but surely the community can think of a great way to bring Juke to this new pilot and make him/her relevant in the combat phase?

There are 3 elites to run with him (her?) juke, wired or intensity. This card was made to be Saws wingman with the stress reroll.

Wired+FAA if you are on the cheap.

Intensity + R3-T1

Now, Another cheap wingman is AP-5 with R3-T1 and Intensity on LT.

A low-level coordinatate will allow you to take a boost, target lock, the two evade toke, and the stress token. Then when LT actually moves (on green) the stress disappears and can take an additional action.

Or the low level coordinate will let you barrel roll in a position to use R3-T1 if not there.

She is garbage.

A ptl awing can boost and evade and fire 2 dice, so that rules out leevan being useful with sfoils boost side.

Spending points to add engine upgrade brings her to same cost as Luke, and a point shy of wes and wedge. She wastes her action to boost leaves her with no offense mods, so the ept has to be action economy. Gaining the stress means cant PTL, cant expertise. She is ps5, and that evade wont be around for juke. You are left with predator and wired. Predator sends her into 30pt territory and we havent even added a droid yet. Ugh. So wired it is.

Leevan w/ Wired,R2astro,Engines,IA,refit = 28pts. Luke with LW,faa, refit, etc is same cost. Wedge with faa,vi. Jess Pava with m9g8.

Other droid is FAA. This leaves her boosting when fleeing only, or always aiming away from ships which wont be ideal. She aint fleeing too fast with only 2 straights!!!

Leevan w/ Wired,Faa,Sfoils,IA,refit = 24pts. Meh. Same cost as Biggs with any 1pt bot,tarn with m9g8.

R7-T1. Probably the only droid that makes most sense and most know how crappy that is.

Leevan w/ wired,r7-t1,sfoils,IA,refit = 26pts. Same as Jess Pava and 1pt bot, Hobbie w/ Targeting Computer.

Worse though is she is locked to green maneuvers, forever! Not hard to predict her.

D.O.A.

Horrible horrible design ffg. There should be no stress cost. Gimme a break. An xwing that has to boost. F***ing joke.

For getting away, his ability is great, but unless you plan on having him somehow be your opponent's target the entire fight, you're not getting any real value out of his ability. I'm still going to play a few games with him equipped with R7-T1 and Intensity just for kicks though.

I am going to do a few runs with him, I personally like his ability. I don’t think he will be top tier, but I see him filling in some gaps of some lists.

PS, it is a him. Here is a picture. I need to watch Rogue One again. (That film just keeps getting better with time for me.) I guess the same race as Maz Kanata?

That was what i thought but I'm pretty sure he has four arms.

Google him. He only has 2 arms.

Can't you do something like AP5 coordinate, Leevan boosts, PTL whatever you want, then you get the stress and evade? I thought that was the whole "nesting" rule. Then you do I green move and clear 1 stress? Maybe throw Inspiring recruit in the list. Granted that's a lot of stuff just to do that

Yes that string works, however...

AP-5 is the perfect wingman (plus inspired recruit) for him. But that is at least a 43 point list. This 43 points can often be better used elsewhere.

That being said, I do think in some list this combo makes sense.

M9-H8+A bare minimum Lonewolf Dash makes for an interesting list. Or maybe a Cheap Rey. Even then cost is the main issue.

I think I was thinking of someone from the solo trailers.

He'll still be the cheapest X-Wing with a native Elite upgrade . Even if his ability is trash (it mostly is... it's OK if you're running away, but even then not amazing), having an Elite slot means something. Leevan can be taken as FAA/Crack Shot for 24 points. Although I suppose that using his ability on a FAA boost locks you out of his normal Focus action. Bah. Maybe this one is R2 Astromech?

I love Wired in theory, but numerically it's trash on pretty much every ship in the entire game. I'm all-in on Crack Shot, since that always works unless [1] you die first [2] your opponent completely blanks out. I'm leery of Intensity, and likewise R7-T1, who's pretty much never been good. I see the appeal: boost in range 1 and get a free Evade, but it's a pricey astromech who has almost always been Binder Food. Particularly at low PS.

So my opinion is that 25 points for an Elite upgrade PS 5 X-Wing with no pilot ability whatsoever is probably fair.
